Yoga and meditation are two facets of ancient Hindu techniques to control and develop human beings. It helps humans to develop and cure many diseases. Yoga and meditation are generally defined as Hindu discipline that helps humans to control their minds and movements of the body. It helps to achieve a state of perfect spiritual awareness and calmness, it is practiced in the World commonly as physical exercise. 

A simple technique of yoga and meditation develops the body and mind when done with proper procedure and strict discipline. Yoga and Meditation is the most important practice for calming the mind. A Calm mind and a healthy body can lead to a healthy, happy, and successful life. It cures diseases and speeds up healing processes. 

The process consists of three main parts, to practice yoga. These parts, of yoga practice are very effective for the physiological, psychological, and biochemical health of the body. Many physical experts compared the results of these techniques against the modern practices of jogging, aerobic exercise, and weight training, and found better results. 

Yoga practice commonly consists of three main parts –  

(a) The Yoga Postures:- The most important part of yoga and meditation is posture. One needs to sit in a proper and suitable posture to practice yoga and meditation for perfection and to gain maximum benefits. Postures are difficult for beginners, one can start by sitting cross-legged. The most important part of the human body is the backbone, which needs to be straight, and the knees should be placed well on the ground. The body needs to be relaxed and steady without exerting any pull or pressure on the thighs, feet, knees, spine, or neck. After proper posturing, one can start yoga or meditation.

(b) Yoga Breathing is a breathing technique that originates from yogic practices in India. It includes controlling your breath in different styles and lengths. Many health benefits come from the practice. A breathing cycle has three phases, Inhalation, Retention, and Exhalation. 

(c)       Meditation is a part of yoga that is performed after yoga when the body is filled with vibrations. Meditation helps us to become aware of our thoughts, act more compassionately toward ourselves, and connect with the present moment. 

People meditate by sitting in silence and stopping all of their thoughts and feelings to become calm. Life is difficult and stressful. Meditation creates the conditions for us to see things more clearly, feel calm, and be kind to ourselves and others. However, it doesn’t happen in instant. The mind is always changing, meditation gives different experiences each time we meditate. Meditation is easy, but requires consistency and proper procedure only. 

The basics to do meditation are as below: 

  1. Consistency.    Consistency is one of the important parts of meditation. One complete meditation once can lead to a reduction in mind-wandering and feeling more energetic and relaxed. One will take more benefits by practicing several times. Meditation schedule /sessions should be planned like an exercise class or gym class. Meditation needs to be a daily routine to keep consistency. 
  2. The best time to meditate.    It doesn’t matter when or where we meditate, so one can mediate at any time. However, the best time for meditation can be the morning before our day begins. It will fill our bodies with energy to make the day best. 
  3. Duration. There is no time duration to meditate. Meditation can be of five minutes or less. 10-minute meditation is great for beginners. One can slowly increase meditation time after gaining consistency in practice. 

 

In conclusion, we find that yoga is a game-changer in our life, it gives physical, mental, and spiritual power. It gives clarity in life and enhances visualization, imagination, and confidence. Yoga and meditation are life changers in our life.
