The Gold Monster 2000 is a professional gold detector developed by Minelab for prospectors who want high sensitivity to small and ultra-fine gold while maintaining stable performance in challenging soil conditions.
One of the main technologies behind the detector is Multi-Au™, Minelab’s simultaneous multi-frequency system designed specifically for gold detection. For ground handling, the Gold Monster 2000 offers three Ground Type settings: Difficult, Normal, and Benign. Difficult is designed for highly mineralized or salt-conductive ground, Normal is intended for mineralized soil without strong salt conductivity, and Benign is recommended only for very mild ground conditions.
The detector also uses Easy-Trak automatic ground tracking, which continuously adjusts to changing soil conditions, as well as Quick-Trak for faster manual ground balancing when required.
Another useful system is Echo Wave™ Audio. It combines normal detection audio with additional discrimination tones. A high tone generally indicates a probable non-ferrous target, while a low tone indicates a probable ferrous target such as iron or a hot rock.
The Gold Monster 2000 is also relatively lightweight, weighing approximately 1.25 kg with the standard 5-inch coil and battery. It offers around 8 hours of battery runtime, and the standard search coil is waterproof up to 1 meter.
