WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE CAUSES OF LUEKEMIA AND RISK FACTORS

“Leukemia is a disease that is considered life-threatening. It requires immediate intervention when diagnosed, to increase the chances of recovery with specialized treatment and treatment. Leukemia is basically a type of bone and blood cancer, caused by improper cellular function. The disease can take many forms, depending on the type of blood cells that cause it to grow. Also, when leukemia develops rapidly, it is called acute leukemia, and when the disease progresses slowly, it is called chronic leukemia”. The exact causes of leukemia are still unknown. Currently, medical science cannot diagnose certain causes of leukemia. However, a strong link between certain genetic factors and disease progression has been revealed. Leukemia occurs after a genetic failure that results in the overproduction of incomplete, partially mature blood cells. Also, leukemia has a genetic predisposition, which allows genes to be passed from one generation to the next. Although many factors are known to contribute to the development of leukemia, they alone cannot be identified as the cause of leukemia. “Despite the fact that statistics show a high incidence of this disease in people exposed to certain dangerous environmental factors, leukemia does not seem to be caused by any of them in particular. Among the natural causes that are thought to be the cause of leukemia are the following: “Smoking - smoking is thought to increase the chances of developing leukemia. Although statistics show that approximately 20 percent of acute leukemia cases are related to smoking, leukemia comes from non-smokers and therefore cannot be considered a cause of leukemia itself”. “Prolonged exposure to radiation - Radiation is considered to help the development of leukemia. It is believed that exposure to X-rays may be a cause of leukemia;  Prolonged exposure to benzene - statistics show that this is a major risk factor for other types of leukemia, such as myelogenous leukemia.” “Chemotherapy and cancer treatment - previous cancer treatment and chemotherapy are known to help the development and development of leukemia and can be considered to be the leading causes of leukemia. Within a few years after chemotherapy and other forms of cancer treatment are completed, most people will develop leukemia”.

Among the genetic factors that are considered to be the cause of leukemia, the following are considered the most important: “chromosome abnormalities - some rare genetic diseases are known to cause the causes of leukemia.” “Immune system disorders - weakened immune systems may facilitate the development of leukemia and therefore can be considered a cause of leukemia.” “Down syndrome - babies born with the disease are at greater risk of developing acute leukemia”.

“The list of possible causes of leukemia can go on and on, but these are the most common factors considered to be related to leukemia. While some of them can be prevented, others remain within the genes and are currently unavoidable. In the future, however, thanks to advances in medicine, we may be able to prevent leukemia and other cancers”.

“Symptoms vary depending on the type and stage of leukemia, but may include the following: fever, chills, night sweats and other symptoms such as the flu, weakness and fatigue, swollen or bleeding gums, a headache, extended liver and spleen, tones swollen, bone pain, red spots are the size of a PIN on the skin and weight loss.
