Top 10 Myths Related To Acne

What we perceive we know about acne is extensively being replaced by what experts are learning. Meanwhile, many myths continue to evolve and endure. Clearing up some of the misconceptions about acne is what this article is meant for.

Myth ››1: Acne only affects appearance.

Acne can also cause deep psychological repulsion. Intense acne can cause low self-image and feel depressed. There is a powerful connection between severe acne and social withdrawal.

Myth ››2: Acne is caused by poor diet.

While skin infections are associated with acne, lack of cleanliness is not the reason for acne outbreaks. The composition of oil and dead cells that produce acne is located beneath the skin’s surface, making it impossible to clean it away. Gentle cleansing with soap and water once or twice daily will keep your skin as healthy as possible. Ungentle scrubbing may worsen acne.

Myth ››3: Acne is produced by some foods.

Chocolate work as a catalyst in pimple production. Studies have shown no scientific proof to support that this is true. The same concept holds for potato fries and sugar. Some foods do seem to aggravate the problem, for instance, milk and foods high in iodine, such as seafood.

Myth ››4: Acne has to move its period.

There are many acne solutions available, both over-the-counter and effective medicines from medical experts.

Myth ››5: Thinking medicine can control acne.

The more acne remedies, the better the reliance and hope of people believing that if their acne gets critical, they should use more curing medicines. That’s a bad idea because medicines can have side effects when taken in large quantities. Excess use of acne ointments may affect the skin beyond your thinking.

Myth ››6: Sunbathing is vital for acne.

Exposure to the sunrays dries out needless oils, so it does cure acne short term. However, long-term, the skin adapts, and the acne is not disconcerted. Worse, there is scientific evidence that sun rays affect the skin and increases the opportunity of developing skin cancer.

Myth ››7: Makeup stimulates acne.

Some makeup products can clog the pores, which is bad for your skin. Cosmetics that are titled “noncomedogenic” or “non-acnegenic” are vital to use. Some brands are made with ingredients that work best to fight acne.

Myth ››8: Acne linked with the teenage condition.

Since most teens develop acne, so do adults. Acne most often clears up by the early 20s. But some people confront acne in their late 40s. And for the most unlucky of all, some people endure acne flare-ups forever.

Myth ››9: Acne is a result of Gender.

We’ve probably all heard that either celibacy or too much-intimating activities cause pimples. There is no proof for this. There is a connection between gender and the production of hormones, but the bridge between gender and the formation of sebum (the oily substance compose with dead skin cells to cause acne) is not known. But stress and anger also affect hormone levels.

Myth ››10: Popping pimples is a good way to get rid of them.

The reality lies in that popping pimples may cause acne to worsen by expanding the bacteria producing it. Popping can also cause eventual scarring, which in critical conditions can be long-lasting.
