How stress effect our health ?

Physical and mental problems

Everyone is going through stressful times. If you can't calm down after that, there isn't much you can worry about. But if you live longer under stress and get less rest, your body will react.

You get complaints such as headaches, muscle aches and sleep problems. You get angry and still feel tired when you get out of bed. You may also feel depressed or sad. You can be gentle with other people and, you can withdraw because communicating with other people costs a lot of energy. Your work takes extra effort and is often difficult to concentrate. Sometimes life no longer seems pleasant and hope for development seems far-fetched.

Not everyone is equally sensitive to stress. Especially if you want to do things right and ignore things that are already going well, you are more likely to get depressed.

Doing more than you can handle will eventually make you less efficient. Studies show that people who work long hours under pressure end up earning less than an hour's work. It can also cause feelings of depression and anxiety as well.

What can you do about depression?

Relax against stress

Rest is essential if you are experiencing severe stress. Try setting aside some extra time. Even if that sometimes seems impossible. But remember, you are not working well, so you end up not working when you are stressed. Sitting on the couch and scratching on your phone or watching TV is not the best way to relax. Exercise is best to reduce your stress. Go for a walk or exercise and try to enjoy the surroundings.

Focus on what is most important to you

Say “no” often to other people who want something from you. Try making a list of people and activities that are truly important to you and things that may not be so important at the moment. Try to see the things you do as an outsider. How can you look back on this in 10 years? How would a close friend look at it?

Try to give your time and attention to people and activities that are really important to you. Make a good decision not to do the unimportant things. And spending less time with people who are less important to you. At times, that may sound like a losing face or an emotionally draining experience. But when you are clear to others, it can be fun too. Focusing on the more important things will have a positive effect on your relationships with the most important people in your life.

What less important things

It may be helpful to delegate certain tasks to someone else. Sometimes that gives you the impression that you are losing control. So that things do not go your way. But if you try to do more than you can handle, you will have to learn to let things go. So you will need to ask other people for help. This can be difficult at times, but you still need to take bold steps to overcome your pride and fear of giving up.

Talk to others about your depression

It can help to open your heart to your partner or best friend. It gives relief to look at what is really important and what is not. And maybe your partner has very different expectations than you always thought. It can also help to share your concerns. You usually come up with something out of the ordinary, and then they have to work together to solve it.

For more exercise, you can join a sports club. Go to the masseur if you often have muscle aches. If all of this is not helpful enough, you can visit a doctor or psychologist.

And set aside time to do things that you enjoy. For example, hobbies, book reading or anything else that gives you energy.

Be careful what you eat. When you are depressed, you quickly turn to junk food that gives you temporary energy. But in the long run, it just makes you unhealthy and overweight. Try to eat more vegetables and fruits. Do you know that uncomfortable feeling when you drink a lot of coffee? That greatly increases your stress.

Why do we work so hard?

You can reduce stress with these tips. But to really move forward, it is important to think about why you are so anxious. Why are you doing all this? Also, take time to reflect on what is truly important in life. Not just today and tomorrow, but what does your future look like?
