How medicinal Plants in the Strategies Disease Prevention

Prior to now, the focus on using medicinal herbs had been on illness treatment rather than prevention. However, there have been a lot of recent studies on the use of medicinal plants and the substances found in them in the prevention of illness reported in the literature. Traditional medicine was defined by a World Health Organization (WHO) Expert Group as the totality of all knowledge and practices, whether explicable or not, used in the diagnosis, prevention, and elimination of physical, mental, or social imbalance and relying solely on hands-on experience and observation passed down orally or in writing from generation to generation (WHO, 1976).                Pygeum africanum (Prunus Africana) bark extract has been used in Europe as a prevention and treatment of prostate disorders, including benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH). In tissue culture, ethanolic extracts (30%) of the bark inhibited the growth of prostate cancer cell                                                                                                               The anticancer properties of the plant have been studied primarily in terms of its preventive, protective, tumour-suppressive, immunomodulatory, and apoptotic effects against various types of cancer and their molecular mechanisms. Azadirachta indica (Family Meliaceae) Neem: Over 60 different types of biochemicals, including terpenoids and steroids, have been purified from this plant. Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) accounts for 15-20%                                                                                                                                                                 The dried vine products, currants and sultanas (Vitis vinifera L.), are made in Greece. Kaliora et al. (2008) examined the inhibition of cell proliferation, induction of apoptosis, and inhibition of inflammation of methanol extracts obtained from currants from three different origins in Greece (Vostizza, Nemea, and Messinia), as well as methanol extracts obtained from Sultanas grown on the island of Crete. All 500 micrograms of dried sultana extracts evaluated inhibited cell growth, but those from sultanas from Crete and currants from Nemea were more effective. Despite eating more animal fat than other countries, the French have a very low rate of heart disease. The 'French Paradox' is said to be caused by the advantages red wine consumption provides for them.                                                                                                                                              (Family Leguminosae) Glycine max, or G. soya, the soy milk Since genistein is the most prevalent phytooestrogen in soybeans, it may bind to oestrogen receptors and have anticancer effects. The placenta can develop choriocarcinoma, a cancer that is aggressive, malignant, and trophoblastic. In an investigation of genistein's impact on the choriocarcinoma cell line JAR's invasive potential and the underlying mechanisms, Liu et al. (2011) discovered that genistein inhibited JAR cell invasion in a dose-dependent manner using a matrigel invasion assay. The prevention and treatment of choriocarcinoma are significantly impacted by their findings. Khan et al. (2012), however, looked into the possibility that consuming soy isoflavones might prevent the emergence of breast cancer. They discovered a dearth of effectiveness for preventing breast cancer and a potential negative effect in premenopausal women.                                                                                                               Osteoporosis in elderly men is now becoming an alarming health issue due to its relation with a higher mortality rate compared to osteoporosis in women. Androgen deficiency (hypogonadism) is one of the major factors of male osteoporosis and it can be treated with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). However, one medicinal plant, Eurycoma longifolia Jack (EL), can be used as an alternative treatment to prevent and treat male osteoporosis without causing the side effects associated with TRT
