From seperation to connection:Top 5 things to try on as a mindfulness practitioner.

01. MUDDY UP

If you are living in a city, have you ever seen a pond or lake nearby, which got dried recently. If not, then you can find such water bodies in villages and outskirts of your city.

So, what we must do is, wherever you find such a lake or pond, you must collect some mud from it.

Be aware while collecting the mud because it can be a polluted one. So now if you have collected the mud now what you must do is to use it as a shower gel.

Next time when you take your shower rub it on your body at a slow pace, feel its earthy smell, have some intimacy with the earth.

One day we will get deposited in the same earth, why should not we feel it, while we can. And do not worry, it has all the minerals which you are soap has, so it is also beneficial for your skin.

02. BE A BIT NOSTALGIC

If you could remember your childhood days, you have memories of your handmade designs like boats, airplanes, wall painting, etc.

Let us do it once again, take some time off from your weekend chores, collect old newspapers, rough pages from your diary and let us make something meaningful.

As we grow up, we forgot the smell of paper and create something worthless, it seems worthless to a grownup, but it is everything for a kid.

Can u remember the days when we spent all evening making a project or a design for a school project, we just enjoy it. Let us make alive that kid in you. Let us connect with that creator in you.

03. WHISTLING

I know what you are thinking right now, yes, you can whistle.

Whistling is a great mindfulness practice; it helps u to be calm and be more productive.

According to science, whistling keeps your stress level low, and it also helps in lifting your mood, so if you are a moody person like my girlfriend, it can be an asset for you.

Do you know that there is a village in Turkey named Kuşköy(village of birds)? Villagers of Kuşköy communicate through whistles, not because they do not know how to communicate, but because there are large mountain passes & they have to summon their animals or their fellow villagers from large distances.

So, whistling helps them to communicate to large distances, you can see the impact of whistling in their faces, you will always see those villagers with a smile on their face.

04. COLD SHOWER

Did you ever try to take a cold shower with some fresh ice cubes from your refrigerator? Yes, most on summer evenings but did u ever see those ice cubes floating on the water surface?

If not then try it, patiently see those ice cubes sinking in the bucket, experience its coldness, let this phenomenon sink with your soul, imbibe its teachings.

We can learn from this simple phenomenon is, that we are mere ice cubes in this vast world and someday we will sink in it but one thing we can do is create an impact like an ice cube when the ice cube melts it has no impact on the volume of the water in the bucket, but until it is floating in the liquid it has more volume than water, therefore, we can create an impact when we are alive.

05. SMELL

Most of you who are reading this article know how to cook, if not then try it sometimes. So, our next activity is smell while cooking, I mean you must keep open your nostrils while you cook, smell everything before and after putting it in a frying pan.

Why I am suggesting u this to, is because you will feel that everything which goes into the frying pan has a different smell than its original one.

This activity of cooking will make you aware of various kinds of smells and how their nature changes in different circumstances, and cooking as an activity gives u time to think about yourself and the world around you.

So next time you are in your kitchen, do remember these things.
