Hibiscus is a genus of flowering plants of the Mallow family, the Malvaceae. The genus is quite large, comprising a few hundred species of species found in tropical, subtropical climates around the world. The member species are known for their large, spectacular flowers and those species are simply known as "hibiscus", or less commonly known as rose mallow. Other names include hard hibiscus, rose of Sharon, and tropical hibiscus. The genus includes annual and perennial herbaceous plants, as well as woody shrubs and small shrubs. The common name is derived from the Greek word ἰβίσκος Pedinids Discords given to Althaea officinalis (c. 40–90 AD). Several species are widely cultivated as ornamental plants, most notably Hibiscus Syriacs and Hibiscus Rosa silences. Tea made from hibiscus flowers is known by many names around the world and is given to heat and cold. This drink is known for its red color, tart flavor, and vitamin C content. The leaves are alternate, oval to lanceolate, often with pointed or dry (tooth) edges. The flowers are large, bright, trumpet-shaped, with five or more petals, ranging from white to pink, red, blue, orange, peach, yellow or purple, and a diameter of 4-18 cm. The fruit is a dry capsule with five lobes, consisting of several seeds in each lobe, which is released when the capsule dehisces (split open) to maturity. It is red and white. The lion (Panthera leo) is a large Panthera cat native to Africa and India. It has a muscular body, a deep chest, a short, rounded head, round ears and a hairy lump at the end of its tail. Adult male lions are larger than females and have bright fur. It is a social form, forming groups called prides. The lion's pride includes a few adult males, related females, and lambs. Groups of lionesses often hunt together, eating large herds of large animals. The lion is a hunting animal; although some lions are brilliant when opportunities arise and are known to hunt humans, these animals usually do not.
