Knowledge is just one part of the educational process. If teachers just imparted knowledge, students could get the same facts from the internet and/or books. Students want teachers that will guide and mentor them. Who will believe in them and build their social skills as they grow through puberty into adulthood. And they expect the teacher to work hard for them. Giving homework back a month after it is submitted is not good enough. If you work them, they will work for you. Above all, you must be friendly, firm and fair. Give them the respect that you want from them and you will establish a good working relationship with your pupils or teachers.
