Although the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has permitted BTech courses in Malayalam, many hurdles have to be overcome to implement it.
All institutions of higher learning, including the University of Technology, have been notified by IICTE that engineering can be studied in 11 regional languages, including Malayalam.
