Why the controversy about 'AGNIPATH' ?

Defense Minister – The press commission on security has taken a literal decision to authorize the transformative scheme of the ‘Agni path’. This will make the fortified forces ultramodern and well-equipped. Under this, Indian youth as ‘Agni veer’ would be granted an opportunity to get into the fortified services.

Numerous further questions are whirling around on the scheme 'Agni path'. These questions are arising due to a lack of enlightenment about the scheme details. So, before raising any kind of questions, let's gain knowledge about this scheme. 

 

 

 

What 'Agni path' scheme is all about? 

 A short-term defense employment scheme aimed at saving on payment and pension costs, freeing up finances to land munitions. Under this scheme, 40,000 to 50,000 soldiers will be signed annually. Once signed, These soldiers will be called 'AGNI VEERS'. Men and women who progressed between 17.5 and 21 years will be suitable to serve in the fortified forces for four times. ‘AGNI VEERS’ will go through training for six months and will be stationed in the forces three and a half times. Around 25% of them will be allowed to serve for another 15 years under the endless commission. ‘Agni path’ is anticipated to make endless situations. For the over 13- Lakh strong fortified forces slender, vastly reducing the pension bills. ‘AGNI PATH’ doesn't cover officer-rank soldiers. Replenishments under the ‘Agni path’ will be done twice a year. The first batch is anticipated to be named by July 2023. 

 

 ‘AGNI VEER’ payment & benefits pay per month 

 · First year – Rs 30,000 

 · Second Year – Rs 33,000 

 · Third Year – Rs 36,000 

 · Fourth Year – Rs 40,000 

· 30 of yearly stipends to be contributed by individuals. 

· Equal quantum matched & contributed by the Government. 

 

 Every ‘AGNI VEER’ is eligible for 

 · Rs11.71 Lakh as duty-free lump sum quantum at the end of four years. 

 · Rs 48 lakh life insurance cover for four years. 

 · Payout of over Rs 1 crore, Including Pay for the unattended term, in case of death. 

 

 

 

 ‘AGNI VEER’ is not eligible for 

 · Gratuity 

 · Pension 

 · 'Agni veers' aren't eligible for the benefits for soldiers under endless commission. 

 · For the 25% 'Agni veers' who get an endless commission, the 'Agni path' 4- year period won't be considered for withdrawal benefits. 

 

  Why center wants ‘Agni path’ 

 · profit expenditure goes into payments of hires, and conservation of establishments. 

 · To enhance the immature profile of the Armed Forces so that they're at their fighting stylish at all times with increased threat-taking capability.
