Many of us go to the gym in the morning to exercise, run, jump and play badminton. After all this, many people even drink tea in the morning when they come back. But doubts are often raised whether it is better to exercise when there is nothing in the stomach to give the body energy. A study by the University of Northampton in the UK is evaluating its errors.
The researchers looked at whether exercising on an empty stomach, or doing so, would later lead to more eating, and which ones burn more fat during exercise, whether eaten or not. For this, 12 men were selected. They were asked to exercise on the treadmill at 10am. Half of them were given breakfast before workout, while the remaining six exercised on an empty stomach.
Everyone was given a chocolate milkshake after exercise. He was given pasta for lunch and asked to eat until everyone felt full. They measured the energy and fat of the food they ate during lunch. Measured levels of energy and fat burned during morning exercise.
The experiment found that in all of them, the energy for exercise came from the energy stored in the body. Exercise energy was not derived from food eaten just before exercise and was taken from all six people after eating. The study also found that people who exercised on an empty stomach did not burn more calories or became more hungry after this. At the same time, those who exercised on an empty stomach burned 20 percent more fat than those who ate breakfast and exercised. That is, if the goal of your workout is to reduce fat, it is best to do it on an empty stomach.
When the body wakes up after a long fast at night, the body will focus on providing enough glucose to the muscles and brain. When all the stored sugar in the body is depleted in this way, then the body will rely on the stored fat for energy for exercise. The body converts this fat into sugar. Exercising when the body is sugar-free will help you burn fat faster.
But there are also some disadvantages to just exercising on your stomach. Low blood sugar can make you feel very tired. This can be a setback for those who want to work out intensely. Eating something before exercise can help those who want to work out intensely. Senior citizens over the age of 55 are also required to eat something before morning exercise. For those who want to eat before exercise to avoid fatigue, you can add half a fruit with a teaspoon of butter or a boiled chicken egg. Drink water after exercise. But after this, one to one and a half hours should be eaten.
