Writing a Business Plan: Why It Is Worth the Time and Effort

Are you thinking about approaching a Bank for finance to support your business? If you havens already gone to see the Manager, then you may not know that the first thing he will want to see is your Business Plan. Perhaps you are not convinced that all the time and effort needed in preparing a plan is essential; if so, then here are the main benefits for both you and your business. 1. No matter how good a communicator you are, you will never be able to convey your vision for the business as successfully as a perfectly put together Business Plan. It provides a clear understanding of what you want to achieve. It allows you to express your ideas more clearly. 2. Business owners often try to sell their ideas by word of mouth, and at the end of the bank interview  the manager is no wiser than he was at first. I think you can guess the outcome of these many  requests! 3. A business plan will help convince  you and the Bank of the  feasibility and feasibility of the project. There is nothing quite like having all the facts  to clarify the 4 key questions. A well-prepared business plan shows you have foresight and  know what you want 5. With so many ideas running around in your head, the pitfalls or obstacles to success have never been clearer. A mind that is spinning and full of ideas will rarely achieve clarity. A business plan forces you to put your ideas in writing and in order. The result of this could be that you go in a completely different direction than you originally thought, or even give up on your idea altogether. Not a pleasant thought, but what would you prefer? Lost your hard capital or the opportunity to rethink your idea? 6. It's a great tool for tracking progress against the goals you've set (we'll start setting goals later). By checking your progress against your plan, you'll be able to spot if you're straying from your original vision and  know what needs to be fixed. 7Imagine if you didn't save this place; An unnoticed change in direction or slippage in achieving your goals, if left uncorrected for too long, can be fatal to your business. On the other hand, maybe a change from your original vision could be a better alternative, but at least making that change allows you to align your journey in a planned way, structured and controlled 8. Every action you take with a plan  helps make those consequences much more obvious. Being aware of the possible impact of your chosen direction  allows you to plan ahead, allowing you to better handle whatever the free world throws at you. This is something that "mental planning" won't do. Writing down your thoughts can make you realize that you need to do more research on demand for your product or service. It may also indicate that further investigation is needed about your competitor's products or services. Further research can help avoid a potentially costly mistake or even uncover a potential benefit you've never seen before! 10. A plan will tell you how much money it will take to execute an idea. In your head, you may have a rough picture of what you'll be going through, but until you've come up with a cash flow forecast, you may not realize  you'll need an overdraft limit, beyond a small deposit. Ready for your device. If the mention of making a cash  forecast makes you sweat, don't worry because later in the book I'll show you exactly how to make one 11. A business plan that will make you  money, successful money. In finance, One of the main reasons banks reject loan applications is  lack of information to make informed decisions. If the manager doesn't know enough about your idea or business, they won't feel comfortable helping you. He needs to understand your business before he can say yes. At some point, he may have to explain to his boss why he's lending you money. So he needs as much information as possible to support his decision. The business plan will make him much more comfortable and therefore more inclined to say yes.
