Are you thinking of contacting a bank for finance to support your business? If you have not already visited the manager, you may not know that the first thing they want to see is your business plan. You probably do not believe that all the time and effort required to prepare a plan is required; If so, here are the main benefits for you and your business.
1. No matter how good a communicator you are, you will not be able to successfully express your vision for the business in the form of a fully cohesive business plan. It provides a clear idea of what you want to achieve. It allows you to express your thoughts clearly.
2. Very often business owners try to sell their idea verbally and at the end of the interview with the bank the manager is not smarter than at the beginning. I hope you can imagine the outcome of many of those requests! 3. The business plan will help convince you and the bank about the feasibility and viability of the project. There is no such thing as putting all the facts in front of you to clarify major issues. This does not eliminate the fact that the pre-planning business owner is more ambitious and more focused.
4.A well-designed business plan shows that you have vision and know what you want. There are so many ideas in your mind that the pitfalls or obstacles to success will never appear. The mind that is noisy and full of thoughts rarely gets clarity
5.. A business plan forces you to keep your ideas in writing and in an organized manner. This can cause you to go in a completely different direction from what you initially thought or to give up your idea altogether. Not a fun idea, but what do you like? Is it possible to lose your hard capital or rethink your thinking?
6. It is the perfect tool to monitor progress against the goals you have set (we will cover the objective setting later). By checking the progress against your plan, you will be able to identify whether you are out of focus and know exactly what to do. Imagine if you did not have this test;
7.An unintentional change in direction or error in achieving your goals, if left uncorrected for a long time, can be fatal to your business. On the other hand, change from your original focus may be a good choice, but at least recognizing this change can adjust your course in a planned, structured, and controlled manner.
8. Every work you do has a result. , And a plan will help to make these results more clear. Knowing the potential impact of the direction you choose will allow you to plan ahead, allowing you to better deal with everything the self-employed world throws at you. This is something that “mental planning” cannot achieve.
9.Putting your ideas on paper you may realize that you need to do more research on the demand of your product or service. It can also highlight the need for more consideration for your competitors' products or services. Additional research can help you avoid costly mistakes or uncover hidden benefits that you may not have noticed before!
10. A plan will guide you on how much money an idea needs to work. You may have a rough idea of what you want to do with your mind, but until you estimate the cash flow, you may not realize that your equipment requires an overdraft limit along with a loan. If the mention of preparing a cash flow forecast makes you sweat, do not worry because later in the book I will show you how to do it. A business plan can help you make money. One of the main reasons for the bank to reject a request for a loan is the lack of information that will help in making the right decision.
11.If the manager does not know enough about your idea or business, he will not be comfortable enough to support you. He should understand your business before saying yes. At some point in the future he will have to explain to his superiors why he gave you the money, so he needs as much information as possible to support his decision. The business plan makes him more comfortable and able to say yes.
12. By the time you finish writing your business plan, you will have a complete understanding of your business; Its strengths and weaknesses, the environment in which it operates, what can potentially go wrong and what you can do to ensure its success. Placing your plan behind the envelope will not be achieved. You should still realize that having a business plan is a must; It could be the difference between success and that terrible "f" word - failure! It's about understanding the importance of planning in advance. Take the time to get your ideas on paper constructively and logically. It pays dividends to you, makes the bank take you seriously and secures the future of your business.
