Strictly speaking, a serial killer is someone who murders at least two people in separate events that occur at different times. Andrei Chikatilo
This Russian serial killer was known for reproductively assaulting, murdering and mutilating about more than 50 young women and children and a nine-year-old was also among them. He killed his victims by slashing and stabbing them with a knife. He admitted of getting an orgasm by stabbing women due to which he couldn’t resist his strong urges to kill.
Alexander Pichushkin
Well-known as the Bitsa Park Maniac and the Chessboard Killer. He lured homeless men to his house with vodka. Accused of killing 49 people, he used to insert vodka bottle into the gaping skull wound. He confessed that he wanted to complete the number of squares on a chessboard and kill 64 people. Also, he was in competition with another Russian serial killer, Andrei Chikatilo.
Charles Edmund Cullen
Cullen was a nurse by profession and was fired for suspicious behaviour from many of the co-workers. He confessed to having murdered 40 elderly patients in New Jersey from 1984 to 2003. He poisoned about 300 patients to death with unprescribed medicines. By doing this he wanted to relieve the patients from their suffering much like an angel would do for them.
Tsutomu Miyazaki
Also known as “The Human Dracula” this man abducted young girls, killed them and was indulged in reproductively activities with their corpses. Not only he drank the victim’s blood but ate her hand as well on one occasion. He proudly preserved body parts as trophies at his house.
Renuka Shinde & Seema Gavit
At a very early age, the killer sisters were trained to be petty thieves by their mother. Shortly, they started the kidnapping of young children and using them for defence against accusations, in case, they got caught. Children who started creating problems for them got killed by these sisters. The sessions court charged them for 13 kidnappings and 9 murders. They are about to be the first women in India to be hanged for their heinous acts.

Abstract
The narratives focus on 544 cases of serial murders, involving about 750 individual murderers and an estimated 5,336 to 6,368 victims. Seventy-four percent of the murderers were from the United States, where 85 percent were male, 8 percent were female, and the lovemaking was undetermined in the cases in which the offender was still at large. In addition, 82 percent of American serial killers were white, 15 percent were black, and 2.5 percent were Hispanic. Eighty- seven percent operated alone, while 10 percent committed their crimes in pairs or groups. Some committed their crimes in specific geographic areas, while others traveled widely. Motives were often psychological, with strong sado-reproductively overtones and evidence of compulsive behavior. Six percent of the cases involved greed. Since 1969, 8 percent of the cases involved practitioners of Satanism, while another 5 percent involved members of the medical profession.
