Ranking or comparing these forces around the world is an extremely difficult task. But there are some of the most feared Special Commando Forces from around the world. These are
1) MARCOS, INDIA
MARCOS is the short form of ‘Marine Commandos’. They are equipped with the best assault rifles, sniper rifles and real-time war equipment. These Special Force is always prepared for battles.
2) Special Service Group (SSG), Pakistan
Imagine marching 36 miles in twelve hours and running 5 miles with full gear in just fifty minutes. These are some trainings for SSG.
3) National Gendarmerie Intervention Group (GIGN), France
From rescuing school children in Djibouti to capturing war criminals in Bosnia, this force has done it all. Their motto is, “To save lives without regard for one’s own”. This unit consists 200-strong units, they keep a very low profile it is even against the French law to publish their photos.
4) Special Forces, USA
Also known as the Green Berets because of their characteristic service headgear. Their motto is “To Liberate the Oppressed “. The unit is full of rough and ready soldiers but it’s their snipers who are considered as the deadliest assassins.
5) Sayeret Matkal, Israel
This is Israeli Special Force and is trained to bring down terrorism. The members are renowned for their high physical and intellectual characteristics.
6) Joint Task Force 2 (JTF2), Canada
They have been a part of various world hotspots, from rescuing hostages in Iraq to hunt down Serbian snipers in Bosnia. Their activity is highly guarded. JTF2 represents them as “a scalpel, not a hammer” making them a faceless, shadowy counter-terrorism force.

9) GIS, Italy
The Gruppo di Intervento Speciale (GIS) is one of the most elite counter-terrorism force. This force is known for their marksmanship. With 100 soldiers, they are aimed with anti-terrorism, security and also providing training.
10) Alpha Group, Russia
An arm of the well known and feared Spetsnaz, the alpha group is the fiercest in their group. They are known for their brutal vengeance and heartless taking down of opponents.
11) Polish GROM
The Polish elite anti-terrorism unit, GROM means “Thunderbolt” and this force justifies this name with their – speed, precision and deadly forces. This force has around 300 soldiers.
