Women of Pakistan are the most incredibly strong and brave human beings. People around the world are, however, not much familiar to this astonishing side of the daughters of Pakistan.

ROLE OF WOMEN IN THE FORMATION OF PAKISTAN:

Since the birth of Pakistan, women have been playing an undefiable role in its progress and development. They have always stood bravely with their heads held up high alongside the male leaders and have proven to be massive support for the cause of Pakistan.

• FATIMA JINNAH:

She is considered to be the mother of the nation entitled as "Madre Millat." She was one of the leading people who worked for the formation of Pakistan. Besides being a politician, she was also a dental surgeon and stateswoman. Being the sister of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, her role in the fight for Pakistan's emergence on the world map is of prime consideration.

• RA'ANA LIAQUAT ALI KHAN: 

She was another leading figure in the freedom movement of Pakistan. As the wife of the first Prime Minister of Pakistan, she was the First Lady of Pakistan from 1947 to1951.

WOMEN IN PAKISTAN TODAY:

Today women of Pakistan are well-known for their courage and bravery they show in fighting against the social taboos and their courage as they stand with their head held up high in the air despite being vulnerable to the strict and narrow-minded society around them.

Streets of Pakistan are packed with inspirational stories of women defying all odds as they Rise and Shine as they run their business, support their families, fight for and win their rights if ever denied, stand against violence, and inspire other women alongside, getting empowered and then empowering many others.

These daughters of Pakistan teach us all how to stand and smile in the face of calamities and never give up on our dreams no matter even if the entire world turns against us. Many of them are not just an inspiration to other women but also men all around the world. Many such names have proved themselves to the world and are today enlisted among the top inspirational women of the world.

• MALALA YOUSAFZAI:

This youngest Noble Prize holder is a young Pakistani girl who belongs to a region of Pakistan where girls are not allowed to get an education. She fought vigorously against her oppressors, was shot in her head, and yet never gave up. She is an education activist and is considered the most prominent advocate of girl's education.

• MUNIBA MAZARI:

Known as the Iron Lady of Pakistan. She is a motivational speaker, a social activist, a singer an artist, first-ever Pakistani model, and anchor who uses a wheelchair as she was injured in a car accident when she was only 21 years old, after that she lost her ability to be a mother and was divorced for this very reason. But after all, she faced, she turned out to be even stronger than before. Her smile gives confidence and courage to all those suffering conditions similar to hers.  

• MARIA TOORPAKAI:

This strong woman is considered to be one of the best squash players in Pakistan. She belongs to Waziristan, the area which is regarded as the most dangerous part of Pakistan as many militant groups and religious extremists controlled it. This used to be an area where girls were denied even their fundamental rights as education, and freedom of speech. But this brave girl defied every barrier in her way to success and, with the support of her father, managed to live a life of her choice, thus setting an example for many girls.

• SAMINA BAIG:

Samina Baig is another name that inspires and motivates other girls to realize their dreams. She is the first-ever Pakistani woman who climbed all of the seven highest peaks in the world at the age of just 23 years. This young girl has a documentary on her journey to Mount Everest called "Beyond The Heights." In 2018 she was named Pakistans Good Will Ambassador by UNDP and was very proud of it. 

• ASMA JAHANGIR:(LATE)

She was a fearless lawyer and a social activist. She was known for her brutally outspoken nature when it came to talking about the oppressed people, not only in Pakistan but worldwide. She highlighted the plight of the minorities and women living in remote villages and peripheries of Pakistan. Her vision was very enlightened. She was put under house arrest as her adventurous nature became a threat to many, But that couldn't stop her from fighting against corrupt authorities and mafias. She died in FEB 2018 due to cardiac arrest.  

• ARFA KARIM:(LATE)

Arfa Karim Randhawa was a young girl from Pakistan who, in 2004 at the age of 9, became the youngest Certified Microsoft Professional. She had her name in the Guinness Book Of World Records and kept the title until 2004. She represented Pakistan on many International forums and died of a cardiac arrest in 2012 at the age of 16.

These and many other women from all over Pakistan, belonging from all races of life, have been working to improve the circumstances for other women around them. These brave daughters of the soil have set milestones by working very hard in their respective fields and creating opportunities for other, less privileged women around them.

The status of women in Pakistan may differ from region to region, depending upon the social norms and ethics of that particular area. Life for women in backward and remote areas may not be straightforward as they face the biased societal norms making it tough for them to realize and chase their dreams. Still, despite all these hurdles, their high spirits, undefeatable courage, and high resolutions have always shattered these glass ceilings. They have proven to the world that Pakistani women are second to none.
