WhyYour Skin Is Begging For Attention by

You have had bariatric weight loss surgery and you look good as you feel healthy, able to live a busy life, and wear fashionable clothes. But you notice that your skin looks very dry! If you have ever had a problem with acne or oily skin before, then you are glad that your skin is relaxed and not oily.

But for those who have started with normal to dry skin, this new dry skin creates a problem, perhaps, and discomfort from itching and peeling. Improving dry skin after surgery can be a problem for many after surgery. Not getting enough fluids is probably the biggest cause but not the only responsibility.

Acne and oily skin often appear as a result of certain foods; and as the bariatric patient basically cuts off such oily, fried, and fatty foods, acne or oily skin disappears. This is good news for someone who has been battling acne or oily skin for years. But for those who fall into the normal category of dry skin before surgery, increased dryness can be irritating.

The skin is the largest organ in our body. It is the breathable and functional cover of our body that holds the bones, muscles, and vital organs all in one clean, secure pocket. Our skin is perspiring, absorbing, sensing, and protecting everything inside. It is important that we take care of it so that it continues to work best for us. Hand and body lotions are simple remedies that provide a wide variety of basic formulas for vitamin-rich formulas.

It is wise to check out small samples of these products to find out what cools your skin best. Buy as little as you can at first so that if your skin does not like the product, you will not spend a lot of money on something you will never use again. And if you find that product that works best for you, remember where you bought it to buy more - because you WILL buy more if you use your favorite hand or body lotion every day.

Hand lotion will be applied several times a day, almost every time after washing your hands; so carry hand grease in your bag (men ... have it in the car). Hand washing really dries the skin as soap and tap water are harsh. Your hands may be clean, but they are often dry, so you can pick up at least one piece of paper! Along with daily hand and body lotion applications, I highly recommend the use of salt baths at least twice a week as well.

A good salt-soaked bath will give your dry skin the extra treatment you need. Bath salt softens tap bath water while skin absorbs the softness of the salt… just as clothes absorb fabric. If you swim a lot in chlorine-covered pools, your skin will really appreciate you after a good dip in the bath salt. Bath salts provide a lasting effect and make the skin feel refreshed.

Bath salt comes in open crystals or solid forms dissolved in warm water. I prefer crystals because this allows you to control the amount you want to spend on each bath, be it more or less. Plain Epsom salt is bone if this is all you need, or you can buy colored bath salt and spices to enhance your wet taste and ambiance.

Do not forget the lips! They too suffer from thirst after surgery! Use a good moisturizing product. For lip problems that need immediate help, try a lip balm with special healing properties that will immediately help to stop cracks and burns. Oral oil should be worn at all times of the year as cold, heat, wind, and the sun are not good for unprotected lips.

When buying outdoor sunscreens, choose a product that not only provides effective sun protection, but also provides moisturizers. If you have never given birth or massaged your skin before surgery, you should start doing it later.

You will find that you experience more “touching” encounters than ever before because people want to hug you and congratulate you as they tell you how happy they are for you. Make it “soft” for everyone involved as you moisturize your skin with good skin products.

Skin care is something that needs to be part of your daily routine such as getting enough fluids after surgery. When you do this, your skin will feel healthier, look more radiant, and you will probably shed a few years off your appearance! Continue to amaze others - not only with your weight loss, but also with your overall healthy appearance. Remember those upcoming hugs!
