Why Your Website Needs Inbound Links

Most webmasters are quick to learn why they need “links” from other sites that identify them. Your incoming links are one of the most important ways to make yourself known in your field, generate traffic to your website, and influence search engines to recognize your site.

"Traffic" is about linking. Without traffic, your website does not serve as a tool to sell your products or to convey your ideas. Finding links to other websites is not the only way to generate traffic, but it is probably the most important.

But how do links make traffic?

** Direct traffic from links **

First, links generate direct traffic. Links from sites that target your target audience will be an important source of traffic to your site. A visitor to another site sees your link, clicks on it, and becomes your guest. Some estimates put the percentage of internet traffic resulting from this type of link as high as 21% of the total traffic.

Why do people click on these links? One reason is that they may view the external source link as a guarantee. They think the webmaster says "Here is a resource you will find interesting or helpful". They want the type of service you provide, so they click on a link to check it out.

But just as simple, curiosity is important. Someone sees a text link with interesting words like “Powerful Cheap Advertising” or “Win a Free iPod” or “See Pamela Anderson Video” and, depending on their interests, a certain number of people can click on it.

This suggests at least three things about your links. First, you should find as many links as possible on pages that your audience may visit. The more people see your links, the more likely you are to get more traffic.

Second, your anchor text (linked words) should be interesting. It should be short and fun, and it should be profitable - a reason why people click on it.

Third, your links should be on the pages people are viewing. Having hundreds of links on pages that no one has ever viewed will not result in traffic jams - at least not direct traffic. Placing your link on an exchange page that contains hundreds of services similar to yours will probably not generate too many clicks. That is why exchanging links with link references is a questionable waste of time. Web visitors do not usually look up these references.

Finding good pages where you can put your link is not always easy. One way is to do a systematic search of your keywords - the search terms that people may be using when looking for your product or service. Many results will compete with yours. But one or two can be a second source as references or reference pages. Finding your link to one of these secondary sources is almost certain to result in traffic, so it is worth the effort - and sometimes the cost - to list the services that get the highest score on your keywords.

** Traffic from search engines **

A second reason to get incoming links is to please search engines. Many search engines use the quantity and quality of your incoming links to evaluate the value and relevance of your site to specific keywords. For example, if you are selling a product called “Full Color Vinyl Banners”, or you are a real estate agent working for “Kitchener Real Estate”, one of your goals is to narrow down the search to your key search phrase (and more. One).

This will lead to traffic because when people search for your keywords, your site may appear in search results. The more relevant links you have with your site, the more colorful vinyl banners or web development services, or "fill in your keyword here", the more your site will be promoted by these terms, and the more search engine rankings increase. To get as a result.

** Use Texts to get traffic and impress search engines **

Embedding links in articles is one of the best ways to quickly increase your incoming links. Many times, a well-written article will appear in hundreds of places on the web. And if it has your own link attached to it, obviously that will increase your incoming links. Webmasters take these topics because they want the content to enhance the value of their sites.

Articles will also generate direct traffic because the people who read them are already interested in your subject, so they may click on your link.

This suggests that the most important place to publish your article is in the theme of a theme or category article. For example, if your product is "health-related", publishing it on health-focused sites will be more important than publishing it on standard sites.

You can even take this step further. If your article is about something as specific as “mesothelioma counseling”, then getting it published on sites that focus on “mesothelioma” will get more “reading”, and have a huge impact on search engines.

Second, when embedding your link, try using an anchor text that contains your keywords, not just your URL or web address. Remember that search engines are dumb. One of your goals is to link your website to specific search terms (keywords or keywords). And the best way to do that is to use them as your working document.
