1. It damages your motherboard IC unit.
This point is about the IC unit of the motherboard. If you update bios and have a cheap motherboard or a simple motherboard, it will definitely harm your motherboard IC unit. It will shortcircuit your IC, or it will dead your motherboard. If it affects your motherboard, then there are the other pc parts too. There is a high chance that your ram or the power supply will be damaged.
2. Why are you updating the bios?
The main reason for updating the bios is to get new features and some simple updates to the screen. Still, if you are updating your bios system to overclock your processor, I suggest you dont do it because there is no reason for updating bios for the processor overclock.
3. Highly chance of processor shortcircuit.
There are the chances of your processor shortcircuit also. See, if you do that update of bios, you will definitely lose something. You will waste your money if you do that. I never suggest you do bios update.

But there are simple ways to know if your motherboard is dead or only a short circuit. There is a difference between dead and shortcircuit. Shortcircuit is when your motherboard is temporarily off, and your IC is not damaged, but in death, your IC is fully damaged, or the IC bridges at the downside of the motherboard are damaged. The way you can be sure that your motherboard is dead is to find the jumper in the motherboard and shot it with the screwdriver. If the pc is booted, the congratulations your motherboard is not dead, and if not booted, then firstly check your power supply and ram, and if the pc is not booting, then it is sure that your motherboard of the pc is dead. By my suggestion, you have to buy a minimum of gigabyte 550 motherboards to be safe from short-circuit, and you can surely play games if you want to play on your PC.
