Have you ever felt like you were doing everything you could to lose weight and STILL you were not losing pounds? During her 40lbs weight loss journey in 16 weeks, my best friend Kim faced some very difficult challenges regarding her level of motivation. One of my friends, Antonio Goodwin, who lost an inch [4 cm] from his waist in 9 weeks with my program, suffered the same fate. The problem was that several times when they were losing weight, they both felt like they were not losing weight and did not see results. Now, looking at some of their pictures before and after on my web sites shows that each of them has made significant progress in their bodies. So what can a person who loses weight every week feel that he or she is not? I'll tell you exactly what it is. It is called the emotion roller coaster. It usually goes like this: You start a new diet or weight loss program. You are all happy to do something good for your health and the way you look, and you stick to the plan, step by step. A consistent action pays off and after a while you start getting recommendations about pounds dropping weekly. Then all of a sudden, everything seemed to stop. You can no longer see the physical changes in your body, and you probably have a moment of weakness and a slight delusion in your diet. So now he is a little confused and depressed. You feel like a real weight loss will NEVER happen to you, no matter what you do. TIME OUT. The trick here is not to get caught up in your frustration. Now this is difficult, because I and everyone understand that EVERYONE goes through this stage. Whenever I need to cut down to take a picture, I go again. One of the things you need to understand about the body is that as long as you consistently do the right things you will be responsible for the consequences. The Jedi Mind Trick is that most of the time progress is subtle, or it may be mainly happening in a place where you cannot see it with yourself. For example, my friend Kim loses weight on her back very quickly. Her frustration came because she did not see her weight gain the way she did. Little did she know that in the background she looked like a completely different person. Listen, mood swings are an inevitable part of any meaningful work in life. Do you remember graduating from college? Or maybe you're just waiting for puberty to start? What about paying off your debts? Mental warfare while trying to eat and / or gaining weight is no different. So make a conscious decision to stick to your guns. Let it play. Victory lies in having the power to go through bad places without splitting under pressure and losing everything you have worked for. If you can get past the frustration, before you know it you will see the results and get more compliments. Lawrence Cole
