Why weight Loss Discipline

Why is it so hard to lose weight and keep off? We have all heard that weight loss is just a matter of taking in fewer calories than we actually consume. That sounds very logical, but is it really that easy? For example, I intended to eat only one or two fruits and vegetables for a day or so, so that I would not be overwhelmed by the latest ‘junk food’ I was enjoying. This was a strong program that truly ensured a reduction in caloric intake. However, a solid plan does not always mean simplicity. I thought I would be safe if I took a trip to a health food store. So my monitoring of high-fat diets was low. When I arrived at the store, my mind was disturbed by a clerk explaining what he was selling fresh beef and cabbage. I could not resist the temptation. And that was not your end. When my armor was broken, the taste of delicious, ‘health-directed’ cookies appealed to my attention. I nodded again. My power of will seems to be waning. And after he got weak, it seemed logical to just keep going. It is like that first drink to recover. I am not overweight, but sometimes the way I eat gets out of hand and the fat around my area grows bigger than I am comfortable with. Usually, times like these are a good opportunity to get a little detoxification, so I like to focus on fruits and vegetables for a day or two. This has the double effect of reducing my calorie intake. I have always adhered to the simple program mentioned above. So where did things go wrong? I have not had enough discipline? Was I lacking in determination, or was it something else? Looking back, the problem seems to be unprepared. I failed to use the power of why. Let me explain. When the chips were down, I didn’t seem to have enough reason to keep the discipline. Perhaps you have had a similar experience. I replied, "Oh, a little will not hurt me". The fact is, if you start over at that road, it can be hard to get back on track. What would be the appropriate correction if so? What is the power of what I am talking about? A good way to strengthen your will in any strategy is to write down the reasons why it is important to stick to your plan or achieve your goal. It is like collecting letters. Weapons, in this case, come in the form of a list. With a long list of reasons to support a plan or goal, I would have had many other things I could use when my previous defense was emphasized. When the clerk explained the source of the bottle, I had to have an accurate list of reasons to return. Since the clerk was just right and sounded really sensible, and it was a free sample after all, my mind had to respond with my already made list of why I shouldn’t be different from my system. That didn't happen because I never made such a list. No matter what you try to achieve in life, there will always be obstacles and obstacles just to jump to and fro. These are the times when you need your list. The list is your power. No list, no power. If anyone is sitting down to plan something or set a goal, he needs a list to support him in his weak times. The longer the list, the better. Even if one has to carry a list in his pocket, it is worth it. A list of about 50 reasons, though difficult to create, can pay off in a big way. Imagine the clerk's surprise, if I had taken out my list I had read to him. My weapons would not be broken, and the clerk would have to go to a better hunter or risk being a dull spear! No list, no power. So, how long is your list? This article is for informational purposes only. It is not intended to advise on diet or weight loss or any other health issues.
