WHY WE GET COVID-19 VACCINE

 

 Why it named coronavirus?

 Coronaviruses are named because of their appearance: “corona” means “crown.” The virus externally covered by a spike proteins which gives it a crown appearance that is why called coronavirus.

 HOW OUR BODY FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19?

 When virus (Covid-19), invade in our body, they attack and get multiply. This invasion of virus into our body cause infection, which cause illness. Our body naturally have tools to fight against virus, which come in action when detect a virus. Our body have different types of cells some are red blood cells and some are white blood cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen which is transported to different tissues and organs of the body, while white blood cells are immune cells and fight against infections. White blood cells are of different types and fight against the infection in different ways.

 MACROPHAGES: a kind of white blood cells that engulf and digest germ dead or dying cells and leave behind a part of invading germ called antigen. When body identifies antigen as dangerous it stimulates antibodies to attack them.

 B LYMPHOCYTES:  a defensing white blood cells, they attack the virus pieces left behind by the macrophage by producing antibodies.

 T LYMPHOCYTES:  another type of white blood cells, attack the body cells which is already affected.

 When the person first time get infected it take several days or may take several weeks to work as their body need time to make and use all the fighting tools needed to get over the infection. Once antibodies made, it then remember next time how to protect body against the same infection.

 HOW VACCINES FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19?

 Different vaccines use different ways to protect us from covid-19. But all the vaccines left T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes in our body, so that your body will remember how to fight later with the same virus.

 Person could be infected just before or just after the vaccine because after vaccination, it takes few weeks to produce T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes for the body and vaccines did not have enough time to provide protection. Sometimes after getting vaccines a mild symptoms such as fever, pains appear which are the signs that your body is building immunity. For such types of fever and pains you can talk to doctor about taking over-the-counter medicine, such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or antihistamine for pain and for any discomfort experienced after getting vaccination.  

 TYPES OF VACCINES:

  mRNA:  vaccines contain material from the virus that causes COVID-19 that provides our cells directions for a way to create a harmless protein that's distinctive to the virus. Once our cells make copies of the protein, they destroy the genetic material from the vaccine. Our bodies acknowledge that the protein shouldn't be there and build T-lymphocytes and B-lymphocytes which will bear in mind a way to fight the virus that causes COVID-19 if we tend to are infected within the future.
