Why do we choose Normal Delivery?
Normal delivery is the natural method of birth. It is also called vaginal delivery. The average length of a hospital stay for normal vaginal delivery is 36–48 hours. About 7-8 hours for subsequent deliveries. Surgery extends that stay.
Giving birth to a child is such a wonderful moment. We forget all the pain when we think of our child. There are many reasons to choose normal delivery.
- Quick recovery
Quick recovery takes place in a few days in a normal delivery, but it does not happen in c - section (cesarean); it takes many months for recovery.
- Short hospital stay
A normal delivery usually takes only 2 or 3 days, whereas a c-section takes weeks and months.
- Breast-feeding with ease
Cesarean section is a major surgical process that takes weeks to heal. This may be problematic for the new mother, as she has to adjust her posture in different ways to feed her baby. On the other hand, natural birth helps you breastfeed with ease as you can recover from childbirth faster.
- Good for the baby
Babies born vaginally receive good bacteria that boost their immune system, And they do not have any problem breathing at the time of birth.
- Lower risk of infections
In a normal delivery, the mother has less risk of infection, while this increases in c-section. And the risk for the child is also reduced.
- Healthy Nutrition
Eat various foods; drink plenty of liquids, protein such as milk, cheese, yogurt, fruits, and vegetables. Take prenatal vitamins. Good food also plays a big role in normal delivery.
So normal delivery is beneficial both for a mother and the child; we should try our best to give birth to the child naturally.
What should we do to have a normal delivery?
Most of the neighborhood and my in-laws told me to work hard during pregnancy. But there is no such thing, you should work according to your body, and according to the doctor, you must walk for a minimum15 to 20 minutes every day. Exercise also helps in normal delivery. It is also necessary to sleep well.
It is also important that you know about the whole process of normal delivery so that whenever you have delivery, nothing strange will happen.
How much struggle is there in normal delivery?
Yes, there is a struggle in a normal delivery, but it is only when the labor pain starts and until the baby is born.
Pain is one of the most common medical problems, which adversely affects an individual’s abilities and leads to fear and anxiety. Attitudes towards labor pain are associated with physical, psychological, environmental, and supporting factors, which greatly affect the decision about the mode of delivery.
All ladies have different experiences; everyone has pain according to their own body, some more, some less, due to normal delivery.
How painful of childbirth?
• 74 percent thought you couldn’t have an epidural after a certain time in labor (you can have one up until the baby’s head begins emerging, known as crowning)
• 44 percent feared pain at the epidural injection site would last for a prolonged time
• 26 percent believed an epidural slows labor
• Most concerning, 20 percent believed only one pain management option could be provided during labor, and 16 percent thought about it but didn’t know
