Why was Facebook Rebranded? | Facebook Papers | Facebook Exposed

Now say 'meta', not Facebook.

Will log In on Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram change now?

The new name will not affect your Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram accounts.

User will soon be able to access all the apps on a single login.

80 days ago, the news was going that Facebook company is going to change its name. However, at that time, the company denied this. But after a few days what happened. The same thing happened. Facebook has changed its name to 'Meta'.

Because of this, Facebook changed its name

Facebook is the parent company of many companies, including WhatsApp and Instagram. CEO Mark Zuckerberg wants to cover every platform from small to large within a company, so he has created Metaverse. Meta has now become the parent company of 93 companies. Zuckerberg believes that the company that introduced the technology didn't want to be left behind in the race, so the Metaverse was designed.

The Eclipse has been seen on Facebook in the last several months. She was embroiled in controversies about something. Former employees made serious disclosures about the company's policy. Many media organizations nicknamed it 'Fakebook', so changing the name may remove the negativity of the company. Not just Facebook, Microsoft is also investing in Metaverse technology.

A Different World of the metaverse

It is the next level of virtual reality. You can see what you can't see in VR right now. The technology of the future will be absolutely pro level. It will be a world where you will have a different identity. You'll be able to come back to this world, shop, and make new friends. Even the smell of an object can be felt in the metaverse. The term metaverse was coined by science fiction author Stephens in his 1992 novel Snow Crush.

What will change in the company with the new name?

Nothing is going to change for you as a user. The 'meta' name will not affect your Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram accounts. You will be able to use your login ID and password as before. However, in the near future, the company will link Facebook to Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus and other app metaverses, which means the user can access all the apps on a single log-in. This will benefit the company that users who did not have access to all the apps, they will now be able to keep all the apps open through login.

How will changing the name change the legal limits? Supreme Court lawyer Virag Gupta said that Facebook had entered in 2004. The company's goal then was to connect people socially. It then became a commercial and India became the largest market for Facebook globally.

In 2016, the company integrated data from Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook. At that time, the company did not take permission from any user. Facebook now has 350 million users, WhatsApp 390 million and Instagram 80 million users in India. Facebook now wants to rebrand itself and position itself in a new orbit. There are 5 questions that will be resolved only after the policy comes out.

1. Will the structure of the new company be the same as that of the old company?

2. Will the Indian company be 100% subsidiary of the US company, and what will be its liability?

3. Will Facebook's new company pay tax across India?

4. Will the designated Grievance, Nodal and Compliance Office work for the new company or for the old company under the new IT rule?

5. Business module, which will change only the name and face of the new company. If this changes, how will the government deal with it?

Zuckerberg's decision to change the company's corporate name is being seen as an attempt to divert attention from the 'Facebook Papers' controversy.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said at a virtual event that his company is rebranding itself as "Meta" in an effort to incorporate its virtual-reality vision for the future, which Zuckerberg calls the "Metaverse." Zuckerberg has also decided to add @meta to his Twitter handle. Also, when meta.com is typed, it will directly redirect you to the Facebook homepage.

Media reports on October 19 indicated that Facebook was now going to change its name. According to reports, Mark Zuckerberg wants Facebook not to be understood as just a social media platform.

Discussion of trying to divert attention from the allegations on Facebook

However, some have speculated that Zuckerberg's decision appears to be an attempt to divert attention from the "Facebook Papers" controversy, a leaked document prepared by a consortium of news organizations including the Associated Press. Many of these documents, which were previously described by a former Facebook employee's whistleblower, Francis Hogan, show how Facebook used internal warnings of negative and often harmful consequences rather than ruining its algorithms around the world.

Is it a decision to survive?

The announcement has been made amid Facebook's existential crisis. It is facing high legal and regulatory scrutiny in many parts of the world following the revelations in Facebook Papers. However, Facebook's biggest critics have not been particularly impressed by Zuckerberg's decision. The watchdog group, Real Facebook Oversight Board, has announced that it will keep its name unchanged. The group also said in a statement that changing the name does not change the reality. Facebook is really destroying our democracy and leading the world in the business of spreading misinformation and hate. Changing the name will not alter the investigation, regulation and facts against Facebook.
