The US envoy to Afghanistan is going to meet the Taliban minister today at Doha. Why does she want to do so? Here are 10 reasons:
1- Introduction of Afghanistan
Before the invasion of the Soviet Union in 1979, the law and order were not great for women in Afghanistan, as they were discriminated against by men. But after this invasion, American planes began bombing the country from all four corners which made it unstable for women who were already facing problems because of their gender. (X) Although, they mentioned that the reason behind these bombings was gas and oil pipelines but it soon became clear that there was more than one motive behind this action like weakening Russia at its roots (which had already lost its control over most parts of the world due to its failure in Afghanistan) and also because of American hatred towards Soviets. Not only did the bombing not help Afghanistan but it just made things a lot worse. It led to chaos and anarchy all around where there was no authority that could have taken control of the situation. (X) After this invasion, the Taliban emerged which provided safety to women who were being discriminated against by men. They imposed their rule in different parts of Afghanistan and brought life back into order.
2- Introduction of Taliban
The reason why the US is trying to meet with the Taliban minister is nothing else but, for getting them on board so that the U.S can regain control over Afghanistan again. (X) This is not their first attempt. Earlier, they tried in 2001 when the Taliban was overthrown but, their efforts failed miserably. They are trying again because they see that there is still a chance for them to bring back this rule and why should they miss it. (X)
3- Introduction of problems in Afghanistan currently
Before the invasion of the Soviet Union, people did not have to go through so, many problems like unemployment, poverty, etc. which led them to be uneducated and illiterate. (X) When the Taliban came into power, they changed everything by providing jobs to these people so that they could earn their living and at the same time get educated too. This way they improved their working capabilities and literacy rate which made them be able to do things themselves. (X) Now, the US does not want this peace because if the Taliban comes back into power, these problems will be resolved. (X) So, that is why they are trying to interfere again so that they can't come into power.
4- Introduction of United States desire
The person who is appointed by the U.S as their ambassador wants the current situation of Afghanistan to remain the same as it is now(X) This means that she would go through any extent for fulfilling her desires even if it means having a meeting with the Taliban minister. (X)
5- Introduction of Pakistan's role
Afghanistan is a place which is between two countries i.e. India and Pakistan. (X) Pakistan believes that if the Taliban comes into power then they will be at threat because they consider the Taliban as Indian allies who will help them in infiltrating Pakistan through its borders. (X) So Pakistan does not want the Taliban to come back into power and would like to stop their efforts by all means possible, even if it means interference of U.S.(X)
6- Introduction of Russian involvement
Even though Russia lost control over most parts of the world after the invasion of Afghanistan but still there were some areas where it was dominating like Afghanistan. (X) Being the ruler of this country for so long, Russia was very close with the Taliban and supported them at every critical juncture. (X) So now, when the U.S is trying to come back to Afghanistan, Russia wants to stop its efforts because it does not want the Taliban to lose power again. (X)
7- Introduction of India role
There are many problems between Pakistan and India but still, they both have one common ground i.e. Taliban. (X) India is supporting the Taliban just like Pakistan who believes that if they become part of the government then there will be peace which will benefit all three countries positively(X) As per what history tells, India wants to weaken Pakistan by interfering with their affairs because of which Taliban lost its power first time. (X)
8- Introduction of China's role
The interference of these countries is bad news for the U.S because there are some other countries who are also interested in peace but still they are supporting the idea of interference by any means possible. (X) One such country is China whose economy depends on the U.S economy i.e. if something happens to the American economy then it will affect the Chinese also(X) So, China does not want anything negative happening to the U.S rather wants everything to go according to plan so that both countries can prosper together peacefully. (X)
9- Introduction of Iran involvement
There is another country whose economy has been affected by U.S interference and it's none other than Iran. (X) Iran might be a small country but its influence can't be undermined because of the oil reserve they possess. (X) So, every time, U.S tries to interfere with other countries which are rich in their resources then Iran opposes their views strongly through different ways like meetings, talks, etc.(X)
10- Introduction of how the Taliban came into power
Even though, Taliban are supporting peace but are still against the interference of the United States because that is why they were brought into power in the first place. (X) Initially, when Russia was dominating Afghanistan then they were supporting the Taliban(X) When the U.S came into power, they also wanted to dominate Afghanistan so they too supported the Taliban because it is what both countries used to think before or rather their old mindset. (X) But after the 9/11 tragedy, things changed and now Russian realized that they cannot support the Taliban anymore(X) Now the U.S is trying to empower them again by changing its policies but still Russia has certain reservations about this matter which forces them to oppose this idea just like Iran, etc.(X)
Conclusion:
This means that whenever the U.S tries to become a part of any situation than other countries always oppose its views because they think that it is not good for them in any way. (X) What the U.S needs to understand is that it cannot force these countries to do anything against their will rather if it wants peace then it needs to support their decision and make them feel positive about the idea. (X) 10
In a nutshell, Russia supports the Taliban just like Iran whereas the U.S wants peace in Afghanistan but definitely not at the cost of Russian's dominance which they enjoy most. All in all, every country has something or the other interest involved so instead of creating more enemies, people must try talking face-to-face with each other so that
