Unemployment could be a term alluding to people who are employable and effectively looking for a work but are incapable to discover a work. Included in this bunch are those individuals within the workforce who are working but don't have a suitable work. As a rule measured by the unemployment rate, which is isolating the number of unemployed individuals by the overall number of individuals within the workforce, unemployment serves as one of the pointers of a country’s financial status.

Reasons of employment in the world:
When businesses contract during a recessionary cycle, workers are let go and unemployment rises. When unemployed consumers have less money to spend on goods and services, businesses must contract even further, causing more layoffs and more unemployment.
Types of Unemployment:
There are basically four types of unemployment:
1)= demand deficient
2)= friction unemployment
3)= structural unemployment
4)=voluntary unemployment
Different ways to control unemployment:
(1)= By controlling the population: Increasing population has decreased opportunity of employment. The rising population should be controlled, this is necessary, along with steps to increase employment opportunities. Fast increase in population, increasing problem in society.
(2)= Development of Small and home industries : These industries help people engage themselves in part-time employment. Capital investment is less and family members themselves run these industries. These industries help the farmers to work in their spare time according to their capacity and fruitfully put to use their labor and craftsmanship. They can invest their small savings and earn additional income for their family. The government should also promote such industries by providing them capital.
(3)= Vocational educational : There is need of change in the education system of the country. The students should be encouraged and helped to opt for employment oriented courses after passing high school examination; this will enable them to get employment.
(4)=Investment in public sector: Investment in public sector should be made on a large scale to remove unemployment. In the private sector also setting up large industrial units which are labor-intensive should be set up. Government should control and regulate setting up of capital intensive large industrial units, otherwise it will give rise to unemployment.
(5)=Training facilities : Facilities for training of unskilled workers should be organized, for this training centers should be opened as per the demand for labor in specific trades/ sector. Mobility of labor should be encouraged by giving them necessary help and assistance.
