After a day of turmoil within the Shiv Senna that overturned the fate of the M aha Vikas Agate (MVA) government, UDHR Thackeray on Wednesday, 29 June, stepped down as the chief minister of the state following the Supreme Court's order to conduct a floor test on Thursday. He also resigned as the Member of the Legislative Council (MLC).
"I am giving up the post of the chief minister. All of you gave me your love and blessings, and I am thankful for that, but I won't be cowed down or get scared," he said. Thackeray additionally engaged all party laborers to keep up with tranquility on Thursday and not make obstacles for the renegade chiefs, who are booked to get back to the state tomorrow.
"I need to tell all radical MLA that you come, make vow and go to the floor test with next to no concern," he said.
After the renunciation, rebel Shiv Senna pioneer Deepak Kesarkar, talking for the Elnath Shined camp, said that the fresh insight about Thackeray's abdication was a miserable one for them. Kesarkar accused Senna representative Sanjay Raul, alongside the Congress and the NCP, for the emergency.

Pa war made it a legal battle and got disqualification processes initiated against us. Was a Shiv Saint more important or Pa war?" he asked. Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patel said that the CM's resignation is not a cause for celebration, adding that this would not have happened if the Shiv Senna would have not joined hands with the Congress and the NCP.
" If they had not gone with the Congress and NCP, and held on to the Hindu agenda, this would not have happened. They formed an unsustainable alliance," he said.
" I want to appeal to all the BJP workers across the state that victory must be accepted with humility. UDHR Thackeray resignation is no cause to celebrate," he added.
