Why To Watch "Panchayat" Web series

The series was shot in a real office located in a village of state Madhya Pradesh. This village is about 40 kilometers from Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. This series is of two seasons, of which season-1 was premiered on Amazon Prime Video on 3 April 2020 and Season-2 was released in May 2022. The series received mostly positive response from critics, with the performances of the leading actors, scripting, direction and major technical aspects were praised, critics also appreciated TVF, its producers to come up with a rural village setting as compared to the previous projects, which is mostly based on the urban atmosphere. For the first time in the history of web series a show capturing the life of Indian villages is made and that too so beautifully portrayed.

 The series deals with the experiences of engineering graduate boy from a city who is not familiar with village cultures, completing his graduation gets a low salary job of a Secretary of a remote village in Uttar Pradesh. Once he reaches there half-hearted, he stumbles upon various issues and how he tackles it is the whole premise of this series. Jitendra is a gem and his performance with no doubt is praiseworthy in every way. Even the other cast is convincing and does lend a strong support which overall lifts the series to other high. Each Series is panned across 8 episodes each with new problems which is very true in rural India and the way how every character react in a situation is something you will be bowled over to see that it is bang on. The format of the episodes is such that while the story progresses in each episode, there are small incidents in the series unique to each episode which make each episode like a small story. This is what makes the story special. The cinematography with perfection, it encapsulates the essence of village in all its glory with sweet background music accompanied by. From endearing characters to some really well-written dialogues, this show has a lot to offer. Good humor, some sweet moments along with some really important messages does the work of soul food. One of the simplest, finest and a heart-warming story from the hearts of Indian hinterland clearly showcasing the daily doings of an Indian rural life with absolutely no melodrama. One of the aspects that works very well for this series, is its casting and their tremendous job.

 However, there’s a big problem with the screenplay that it’s boring and hardly keeps you engaged. It rarely happens when the writer has so much to give but still, the story fails to keep you hooked. It faces the same issue.

 Overall, It will make you happy, feel-good. Has the right intention with a good social message, which should be the top choice for the weekend. The story is written very well. In not a single part will you feel bored. Extra praise must be given to the writer as the story being about a village was not easy to write and a lot of research must have gone into it.
