I used to talk to senior bodybuilders about their training and diet to make a living and I did this for years and years. One recurring theme that came up when the talk turned to food / nutrition was how much food the top bodybuilders packed every day. These men have taught their bodies how to maintain a high calorie content without losing weight. Compare this to an obese person who eats only one meal a day and adds body fat when throwing a hat. I work with a group of obese people and I am very successful in using dietary supplements to help the obese to lose body fat. The first business plan for the obese is to establish a bulk diet plan. The obvious advantage of this strategy is that it separates daily calories into smaller pieces. I need a fat person to eat every three hours and this is usually five meals a day. Secondly we emphasize that they clean up food choices. Some foods are easily converted into body fat (sugary foods, man-made foods and saturated fats) and some foods are almost impossible for the body to convert into fat (lean proteins, fibrous carbohydrates). The body's metabolism goes into high gear to digest protein and fiber - creating what is called a thermogenic effect on food. Body temperature really rises when the digestive system is faced with the daunting task of breaking down protein and fiber. Most foods allow the body to absorb fewer calories anywhere and the repeated practice of eating 5-6 meals a day teaches the body to have the ability to digest and distribute food. It is better to eat 3,000 “pure” calories a day divided into 500 calories daily than one 1,500 mega-dirty-fast-dirty diet. The results are amazing when obese people buy this method. I have one male who has lost 40 pounds of body weight in 40 days while at the same time gaining 12 pounds of muscle. He started at 240 and yesterday he weighed 200. This is very impressive because he did not lose muscle in the process, he added muscle in the process. This was not an ex-jock loaded with muscle memory; this is a 48 year old man with experience of zero weight training. Obese people who reduce calories end up losing as much fat as muscle and end up looking like smaller fat types. This modified body builder dissolves fat while at the same time adding muscle: an obese person eats more and as a direct result feels energized and energized during the process. Compare this to a calorie-slasher that you feel deprived, denied and continually at risk of indulgence. A person who eats healthy food every three hours is less likely to indulge and breathe than a poor fat person who eats 1200 calories a day. A calorie fat person has set his calorie intake so low that eating a sweet or ice cream cone causes them to gain five pounds in 24 hours. Adding active muscles and building strength allows an obese person to move and be able to climb stairs, get out of a low chair and energize his or her body around. Compare this to a calorie-slasher that weakens its already weak body. Those who rely on weight loss for weight loss weaken the immune system and continue to develop colds and illness. Those who live on 1,000 to 1,500 calories a day live in a depressive psychological world of denial. A person who has developed a healthy body and consumes 3,000 calories a day can absorb less and occasionally, much better than a starving person; I allow my people to eat junk food once a week: this allows them to feel mentally free. The great thing about cheating food (not cheating day - cheating food) is that "for good" some of the 6 7/8's time sweets, fats and garbage they crave and may eat are rejected by the body and often cause diarrhea. I train five obese people I work with right now - one man and four women - and they all get amazing results in the same way: they all lose unhealthy fats while building active muscles and eating more food than they did before starting the procedure. This counterfeit method - eat too much to lose fat - was shot right in a professional bodybuilding playbook and can be used effectively by anyone interested in losing fat while adding muscle.
