Imran Khan became prime minister with the support of 23 members of the coalition, while a total of 172 members were needed to rule.

Resolution of no confidence:
The Parliament of Pakistan convened recently. Opposition leader #Shebaz Sharif then filed a no-confidence motion against the current Imran Khan regime. Their vice-president, Qasim Khan, asked who the members were who supported the resolution. A total of 161 members supported the resolution. The resolution was subsequently taken up for discussion.

There are 23 members from the coalition parties. Meanwhile, the MQM party, which had been supporting the Imran government, withdrew its support and the Imran Khan government lost its majority in parliament to 164.
At the same time, there are more than 20 dissident members within Imran Khan's own party who have left the party. It has been reported that this number is likely to increase further. They are also expected to vote against Imran Khan.
The term of office of the current regime is until 2023. Nevertheless, given the dissent within the coalition parties and within his own party, will Imran Khan defeat the no-confidence motion with enough support?
