Governor-Chief fight ends! The appointment of a deputy is a state right!
Chennai: In Tamil Nadu, the fight between the Governor and the Chief Minister is coming to an end. Chief Minister Stalin passed a bill in the legislature yesterday to amend the university law to deprive the governor of his powers, emphasizing that 'the appointment of vice-chancellor is the prerogative of the state government'.
It is noteworthy that the bill was passed while Governor Ravi was conducting a private seminar in #Ooty, inviting all the university vice chancellors. In Tamil Nadu, the conflict between the DMK, the government and the governor is increasing day by day.

Power to the State Government
The Gujarat University Act of 1949 and the Telangana Universities Act of 1991 have empowered the concerned State Government to appoint a Vice Chancellor.
