Why The dazzling electric luxury: Lucid Air

Competing in the electric car market is challenging because technology moves at a fast pace – contributing to a growing sector of four-wheelers and new car companies popping up all the time. While some electric car brands bring new things to the table, others get labeled as just another 'Tesla copy'. Although Lucid Motors is a fairly new pedaling company, the Lucid Air borrows nothing from competitors, bringing new standards in terms of electric efficiency with a range of 530 miles where they have 1111 horsepower for their highest trim. Here's a brief look at the brand-new electric wonder known as the Lucid Air.

Overview

Lucid Motors, an American company that primarily supplies batteries to Formula E, debuted in 2017 with their Lucid Air concept. Recently, the car went into production, and thus brought forward many of the bleeding edge technologies Lucid Motors had previously promised. Two of these key features are the headlight design and the interior, which can be directly compared to the Mercedes EQS in terms of luxury and material quality. The comparison is valid as Lucid Motors markets itself as a 'luxury electric car brand'.
The Lucid Air comes in a handful of trim choices, while the base model – which Lucid calls the 'Pure' – comes with a single motor, producing 480 horsepower at the rear wheels. The rest of the models come with dual motors, with horsepower and range buffs in the upper models, while the top of the line - called the Dream Edition Performance - brings 1111 horsepower, 530 miles of range and a quarter-mile time just under a nick of 10 seconds.

Design and exterior

At first glance, you may notice the huge set of wheels – 245/35R21 in the front and 265/35R21 in the rear. This gives the Lucid Air a high-class, luxurious look befitting an electric sedan. However, aside from that, the rest of the car looks fairly simple, with the design lines adding a futuristic feel. The car doesn't carry the angular and sharp electric car look, but the body lines flow through the panels in a traditional way, while still giving subtle cues that the powertrain isn't gas-powered. The headlights have microlens arrays that aid in the autopilot mode of the car as well as contribute to the vehicle's future signals with DRLs. All in all, it sports a rather remarkable design as far as electric cars go.

Interior and infotainment

The airy interior feels spacious, even though it's a mid-size sedan. The extended windshield and sunroof that extends to the rear of the car (which the Lucid was initially only known for) allow plenty of light inside the car. It gives a comfortable atmosphere inside the cabin, perfect for a comfortable ride. The seats are made of premium leather, and also have massage features, which add to the luxury aspect of the car.

The infotainment system mainly consists of a full section of the dash with a gauge cluster on the driver's side and a screen in the middle and a small touchscreen tablet that slides into the middle of the center console, which is retractable. Apart from that, the materials used in the interior are of fairly high quality, with the visible use of mahogany in the wooden panels.
judgment

Judging from the first iteration of a luxury electric car, Lucid Motors has a bright future ahead of it. Starting at $87,400 and going up to $220,000 for the top-of-the-line Air Sapphire model, it overcomes people's complaints about Teslas, where the interior was mostly cramped, despite being similarly priced, at least compared to the base model Lucid Air. The promising Lucid Air combines massive power with efficiency benefits, creating a good enough combination that helps reduce the range anxiety trend in electric cars.
