Why The Best Acne Treatment May Be a Change in Diet

Western medicine is notoriously sophisticated when it comes to drug formulations and targeted medicine, approached from a perspective based on deductive science. However, it has been largely a failure in being open to solving medical problems that come from outside the domain of deductive science. This is why for years Western medicine has failed to link diet to acne. Medical development and treatment of acne sufferers has advanced significantly in just the last 15 years. However, the problem of acne remained largely unsolved until recently. In the past few years, empirical studies have first trickled out and are now flooding in that there are links between acne and diet. The basic premise of the research is that the consumption of refined carbohydrates and sugar is the main culprit for many individuals' acne problems. The scientific theory is that when carbohydrates and sugar are metabolized, they lead to an increase in insulin and the production of an insulin-like growth factor called IGF-1. This growth factor then causes the body to start producing male hormones in much greater quantities. These growth hormones lead directly to an increase in the amount of sebum produced. Sebum is the oily substance that oozes out of your pores and is often described as "oily skin". The sebum then clogs your pores and ultimately causes bacteria to build up in those pores, unable to escape due to the sebum. This of course eventually leads to acne. This rather exhaustive explanation explains it simply; when you consume refined carbohydrates and sugars, you can aggravate your skin, clog pores and create acne. So, what is the answer? Unsurprisingly, this may be limiting sugars and refined carbohydrates such as sweets and pasta. These foods give us very little of the nutrients we need, while giving us much more through clogged pores. In fact, recent studies show that these foods can be so bad for you that your body actually fights them like a disease by producing white blood cells. Not only does this spending on white blood cells temporarily lower your immune system, it also causes your body to produce more waste, some of which is excreted through your pores. But you might be surprised to learn that giving up chocolate and spaghetti might not be the only way to get brighter skin. Rather, there are a number of foods, especially raw vegetables and antioxidants, that can actively cleanse the skin. These foods act as a kind of mop in the body that absorbs toxins, also known as free radicals, which are often excreted as bacteria through the skin. So actually eating a better diet can attack your acne problem in two different ways, by reducing your intake of sugars and refined carbohydrates, your body will produce less pore-clogging sebum, while increasing your intake of certain raw vegetables will greatly reduce the amount of bacteria that is secreted by your pores. Combined, these two techniques will significantly reduce your acne proneness. so protect your skin at soil and other things.
