Until now, it was easier to get work permits and permanent residence permits in Sweden than in Northern European countries. It was easy to get a temporary work permit by showing a monthly income of only 13,000 Swedish krona. If the conditions are met, the permanent residence permit will also be granted.
But this time there is no chance. The new rules, which will come into effect from November, require a work permit applicant to have a minimum salary of 27,360 Swedish krona. Which is more than 2 lakh 70 thousand taka in Bangladeshi currency.
The new rule will also be effective in renewing the visa of those who have already been living in the country for a long time with a work permit. Besides, those who have applied for work permit or permanent residence permit with previous salary will also have to meet the new conditions if the decision is not received before November.
Expats from various countries including Bangladeshis are in trouble due to the work permit rules that will come into force in Sweden from November. As a result, analysts believe that more than 8 thousand immigrants will be forced to leave Sweden.
Sweden is interested in investing in Bangladesh's power sector
Sweden's ambassador to Bangladesh, Alexandra Berg von Lind, has expressed interest in investing in Bangladesh's electricity and renewable energy sectors.

In this regard, the Swedish government wants to cooperate with Bangladesh.
The commerce minister said that considering the geographical location, Bangladesh is now the most attractive place for investment. The government is providing all kinds of facilities to the investors. One stop service has been launched for various services and service approvals. Foreign investment is coming to Special Economic Zones. He called upon the concerned heads of government to invest in Bangladesh through the ambassadors.
Pointing out the development of Bangladesh, Tipu Munshi said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's far-reaching and dynamic leadership has seen unprecedented development in all areas of the country, including communication, infrastructure, health and education. Many mega projects have been implemented. Out of the LDC, Bangladesh has been transformed into a developing country, which will be effective from the year 2026.
On this day, in addition to the ambassador of Sweden, the ambassador of Switzerland Reto Rengili and the ambassador of South Korea Park Yong Sik also met with the minister of commerce.
