WHY SWEET DANGER OF SUGAR?

                            Sugar has a self-contradicting notoriety with regards to wellbeing. All carbohydrates-containing foods, including grains, dairy, and fruits and vegetables, naturally contain sugar. It is acceptable to consume whole foods that naturally contain sugar. Plant foods also contain a lot of antioxidants, essential minerals, and fiber. Dairy foods contain calcium and protein.

                        Since your body processes these food sources gradually, the sugar in them offers a consistent stockpile of energy to your cells. It has also been demonstrated that eating a lot of whole grains, fruits, and vegetables lowers the risk of developing chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers.

Consuming too much sugar

                              Issues happen when you devour a lot of added sugar — that is, sugar that food makers add to items to increment flavor or expand time span of usability.
Soft drinks, fruit drinks, flavored yogurts, cereals, cookies, cakes, candy, and the majority of processed foods are the primary sources in the American diet. However, things you might not think of as sweetened, like soup, bread, cured meats, and ketchup, also contain added sugar.

                        The outcome: We overindulge in added sugar consumption. The National Cancer Institute estimates that adult men consume 24 teaspoons of added sugar per day on average. That is the same as 384 calories.

                        According to Dr. Frank Hu, a nutrition professor at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, "Excess sugar's impact on obesity and diabetes is well documented, but one area that may surprise many men is how their taste for sugar can have a serious impact on their heart health."

Impact on your heart :

                            Dr. Hu and his colleagues found that a high-sugar diet was associated with a higher risk of heart disease death in a 2014 JAMA Internal Medicine study. Compared to people who got 8% of their calories from added sugar, those who got 17% to 21% of their calories from added sugar had a 38% higher risk of dying from cardiovascular disease over the course of the 15-year study.

                               According to Dr. Hu, "Basically, the higher the intake of added sugar, the greater the risk for heart disease."

   High measures of sugar overburden the liver. " According to Dr. Hu, the liver converts dietary carbohydrates into fat and metabolizes sugar in the same manner as alcohol. This can result in a greater accumulation of fat over time, which could lead to fatty liver disease, a condition that contributes to diabetes and raises your risk of heart disease.

                           Overindulging in added sugar can increase chronic inflammation and raise blood pressure, both of which are pathological pathways to heart disease. Because liquid calories are not as satisfying as calories from solid foods, excessive sugar consumption, particularly in sugary beverages, also contributes to weight gain by tricking your body into turning off its appetite-control system. Because of this, sugary drinks make it easier for people to add more calories to their regular diet.

                           Dr. Hu asserts, "The effects of added sugar intake are all linked to an increased risk for heart attack and stroke." These effects include elevated blood pressure, inflammation, weight gain, diabetes, and fatty liver disease.

Subtracting added sugar

Reading food labels is one of the best ways to monitor your intake of added sugar. Look for the following names for added sugar and try to either avoid, or cut back on the amount or frequency of the foods where they are found:

  • brown sugar
  • corn sweetener
  • corn syrup
  • fruit juice concentrates
  • high-fructose corn syrup
  • honey
  • invert sugar
  • malt sugar
  • molasses
  • syrup sugar molecules ending in "ose" (dextrose, fructose, glucose, lactose, maltose, sucrose).
