What is Space Exploration? It is the collective use of space technology and astronomy to study and explore the outer space beyond our atmosphere. That is the Karman line, shich begins at 100 kilometers from the sea level. Space exploration helps us to understand the science of space and helps us in understanding the universe.
The history of Space exploration began in the USSR. They started with the launch of the first space craft Sputnik followed by the send-off of the first man into space. Soon many countries joined the race of space exploration and launched their crafts and men into space. Currently USA leads the space race with its advanced tecnnology and unique ideas. The first collective mission was the establishment of the International Space Station by 16 countries and 5 space agencies, namely NASA of USA, JAXA of Japan, ROSCOSMOS of Russia, ESA of Europe and CSA of Canada. It requires a lot of manpower, funds and resources for being at the top of the list.
The space exploration is advantageous to humanity. We can learn a lot of information from it. The pros of Space research include finding solutions to technological and philosophical problems. In order to improve efficiency in space, we develop or advance technologies. Due to this the people are benefitted with newer technologies or the improved version of it. This includes Sat-Navs, cordless tools, vaccum powered tools, highly efficient solar cells, communication devies and so on. Also it helps us in understanding the fundamental questions like "How are we here" and "Why are we here". It helps us in understanding the history of our solar system and our place in this vast universe.
Many scientists have predicted that dark matter if foound might be an excellent fuel source in space travel. They have hypothetically predicted that, dark matter in any form might serve as and excellent and sustainable fuel source and might enable us to travel at the speed of light itself. Or any kind of extra-terrestrial crystalline sources might help us in that. There is no limit for surprises in what the space might hold for us in the coming days or in the near future.
Now let us come to the disadvantages. It mostly includes the cost factor and the risk factors associated with it. Space explorations are highly risky and dangerous. The astronauts are trained rigorously and operate with extreme precision. Even a slight Human error or a machine failure could cause loss of lives or millions od dollars worth machinery. Many countries invest their knowledege, fund and resources to stay ahead in the race of Space Exploration. This leads to the situation where an equally important issue is disregarded due to lack of funds or brains.
Finally, I would like to conclude by saying that space exploration may not be required now, but it may be important and essential in the future.
