Kovid-19: How do oranges boost immunity?

Citrus fruits, such as oranges, are a good source of vitamin C, says Apeksha Exbot, chief dietitian at Nephroplus.

When it comes to Kovidkala health, it is clear that nutritious foods, a careful diet, and proper exercise can help a person lead a good life.

Citrus fruits such as oranges are an excellent source of vitamin C, says Apeksha Exbot, chief dietitian at Nephroplus.  Citrus fruits are a powerful antioxidant that fights free radicals in the blood and reduces oxidative stress.

The covid-19 virus is an external virus that, when attacked, causes oxidative stress and weakens a person's immune system. Vitamin C is essential for our body because it supports the function of the micro-cells in our immune system. At the same time, vitamin C strengthens the formation of antibodies. ”  Exbobot added.

Research has shown that high-dose intravenous vitamin C treatment in patients with serious infections, including sepsis, trauma, and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), can significantly improve symptoms.

Therefore, it is advisable to consume at least 100 grams of citrus fruits daily during and after Kovid to get the required vitamin C and boost immunity
