Why Soft Drinks Contaminated By Benzene

Dinner, lunch, and even breakfast, America warmly welcomes soda, fruit juice and flavored water in its glass. However, these pleasant drinks do not come cheap. Frequent consumption of high calorie beverages proves that weight gain is very common and these drinks contribute in a big way to the rising obesity rate in the country. But researchers have found something even more disturbing. In addition to high sugar levels, artificial flavors and calcium-reducing fizz, some soft drinks also contain highly toxic benzene — sometimes at dangerous levels. Is an old-fashioned soda pop bottle nothing more than a burning industrial plant?

How Did Benzene Get in a Mere Soda Can?

Cars release benzene from their smoke. Benzene is invisible in thick, irresistible fog above gas stations. Factories release benzene into the production of certain plastics, chemicals, dyes and detergents. It is not surprising that benzene, a pollutant and toxin, causes cancer. Air coming from such work companies has been reported to infect employees. With such properties, benzene is definitely not something you would expect to find in a grocery aisle. So, how did it get there?

 

 

Many soft drinks contain benzoate salts and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Both of these ingredients are naturally part of fruit based drinks. A high percentage of other sodas use them as preservative agents or nutrients. However, when high levels of benzoate salts and vitamin C are exposed to light and / or heat, the likelihood of a chemical reaction is high. Benzene is the product of this process.

Is Benzene Contamination Preventable?

There is no way to ensure that soft drinks are benzene-free. But what if someone drank only what they bought? What if people store drinks only in cool and shady places? Never mind No one can say for sure about the conditions in every storage warehouse or in every shipment that is shipped. Once formed, benzene is permanent. In the 1990s, soft drink companies changed production methods in hopes of halting benzene growth. However, from 2005 to 2006 the FDA detected more than 5 ppb of benzene in some products. Furthermore, the experiment proved to be quite inadequate. The study, which covered only a small percentage of the country, did not cover all products or brands. What if the benzene level is really high? Are these discoveries just a glimpse of the horror reality? ,

Are there any preventive strategies?

Now not only is it unhealthy, some foods actually contain toxic substances. People can maintain a healthy diet with low s ***, sugar and foods high in salt and fiber.
