The scene starts when Otto is seen in the store buying rope and arguing with the store owner for charging more than it is. He is a person who observes every small things. Otto lives in a private colony and takes care of his colony. He follows the rules and regulations of that colony and make sure all his neighbors must follow. He used to work in an engineering department, and it was the time he retired. It is seen that he is not at all happy about his retirement. He always desires to end his life as he misses his death wife. But he could not do it due to some circumstances. He finds out that a new Spanish neighbor has shifted recently in the colony seems to be loud and Otto gets annoyed. He always had a flashback of his death wife whenever he read a book. The new neighbor used to visit Otto and offer him food, but he refused to take it, but since they forced him he takes it. He often visits his wife's graveyard from time to time and talks to her. He missed his young days when he applied for military but got rejected due to medical issues where he met Sonia (his death wife) for the first time. One morning Otto met a cat and since he is not fond of cats he tells the cat to go away. And after some time once again Otto tries to end his life inside the car and again his neighbor comes to him and ask for help that he's husband has broken his leg while working. Once again, he is unsuccessful in taking his own life. He then takes his neighbor to the hospital and plays with the kids.
Marisol (neighbor) saw a cat is freeze to death in the snow and tells Otto to take the cat with him, but he refuses it and a man named Jimmy take the cat with him. He then remembers Sonia where he proposed her to get married to him. At that time, Jimmy brings the cat back and leave her with Otto. Otto then takes care of the cat. Marisol asks Otto to teach her how to drive. At first, Otto refuses, but then he decides to teach her. Marisol tells Otto to move on and live his rest of the lives, but he refuses and said that he loves Sonia and don't want to forget her and let him live in his own. Otto remembers his past days where Sonia and Otto went for a vacation and while coming back they met with an accident and lose their 6 months baby. His wife appear to him and said that he should move on in his life and should be happy. That was the very moment he realized he should enjoy it. At the end, he introduced his Marisol's family to his wife and took them to a ride. He went in peace, leaving his whole properties in Marisol's name.
