As a result, we choose to work with just one manufacturer. After a long period of time... Toshiba is the only phone system manufacturer that Dial Communications works with. Many dealers like to handle every phone system available, including Mitel, Panasonic, NEC, Avaya, and Meridian, but this simply assures that their personnel are overworked. You can't be an expert at any of them when you have to master so many different systems. You also can't keep all the components you need on hand on a regular basis. As a result, we choose to work with just one manufacturer. Toshiba was picked for a variety of reasons after extensive investigation into the various phone systems available. They are a market leader, thus their phone systems will be competitive in terms of price and features with anything else on the market. Toshiba makes every effort to guarantee upward compatibility, which means you may upgrade just the essential components, rather than your complete system, to obtain new features. Toshiba phone systems are designed to be modular, so any components that fail may be readily replaced. For example, a recent electrical storm knocked out the power supply of one of our clients, a local bank; the technician replaced the faulty power supply with a new one in only 15 minutes. This implies that there will be minimum downtime, all of the customer's bespoke phone programming will remain intact, and the cost will be inexpensive. Needless to say, this client followed the technician's advise and now has a UPS connected to their phone system, which would have averted the situation in the first place. Another of our customers is growing their business and need IP telephone functionality; they will have salespeople working in multiple locations outside of the main office. So we changed their phone system – and the phones stayed the same – and all of their programming was preserved and transmitted to the new system, as well as their Voice Mail programming. The whole amount of 'downtime' is around 10 minutes. On many other phone systems, this would have been difficult, if not impossible, since many phone system providers need a particular model of phone for each of their phone systems. Changing the phone system CPU would have necessitated replacing all of the phones. Toshiba's dependability, in addition to its remarkable adaptability, has been highly notable. The bank, for example, hasn't phoned us in 15 years since they needed to repair their power supply following an electrical storm. They've had their phone system for that long. (I should know; I'm the technician who put it in!) It's astounding to think when you realize that phone systems are nothing more than highly specialized digital computers; after all, can you point to a computer at home or at work that's been there for 15 years? Because Toshiba's dependability reflects good on our organization, our clients who desire to update almost always choose a newer Toshiba model over any other phone system. That not only makes us appear nice, but it also helps us stay in business. If you don't already have a Toshiba phone system, ask your colleagues what they think, and then give us a call to discover how a Toshiba phone system may help your company.
