Why should we keep our livers healthy?

What is the importance of liver?

Our liver is the only place where the digestion of protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, and minerals that we eat takes place. Just as the kidney removes unwanted waste from the body as urine, the liver removes unwanted waste through bile. The liver is the only place in our body where albumin protein is produced. Albumin does a lot of work. One of them is carrying the pills we take from one place to another. The liver produces some of the substances necessary for blood clotting. As such, the liver performs various functions. Individually, the liver performs more than 500 functions.

 Why is liver health important?

If the liver is kept healthy, other organs will also function well. If the liver is completely damaged, kidney damage will also occur. That means there will be problems urinating. Blood pressure will be low. Liver-affected people cannot walk even four steps normally. Breathe. The lungs also do not function properly. I can't think normally. No sleep. Because if the liver is damaged, it will affect the functioning of the brain. Also, they are usually more susceptible to a common infection due to their weakened immune system. So if the liver is healthy, other organs will also function well.

How do you keep the liver healthy?

Do not eat more than necessary to keep the liver healthy. High-protein foods should be consumed. When we eat more food than we need, it gets stored in the liver as fat. If we get used to eating food according to our required calories, fat will not accumulate in the liver. Avoid high-carbohydrate foods like sweets, yams, soft drinks, and three meals of rice. At the same time, you should also take in as much protein as you take in carbohydrates. Eat protein-rich foods like pulses, lentils, chickpeas, skinless chicken curry, fish, egg whites, and milk. Eat more protein-rich foods and reduce your carbohydrate intake. Walking is also essential. Because, as said earlier, we don't know how many calories our body needs. So exercise is essential to reduce unnecessary calories. A three- to four-kilometer walk is enough. In total, eat as much as you need. Make sure that the food you eat is healthy. Have proper walking. If followed properly, it is not only good for the liver but also for our heart, lungs, and joints. We can have a healthy life.

What are the diseases that affect the liver?

There are some infections that can affect the liver. In cases of such infections, proper tests can be done to find out what type of infection it is. Some infections can also occur through contaminated water or food. Examples include hepatitis B and hepatitis E. Some infections are spread from one person to another through blood transfusions, sharing the needles of people infected with the virus, and unprotected x. Hepatitis B and C can affect the liver. Similarly, alcoholism affects the liver more.

What is a fatty liver?

Gallstones are usually free of fat. It destroys excess fat in the digestive system. Mitochondria inside the liver cell are responsible for breaking down fat into smaller molecules. There is a limit to this fat, beyond which it cannot be metabolized. It goes into the cell unnecessarily and gets stored. For example, a 100-gram liver contains 5 grams of fat, which is acceptable. But 10 kg, 20 kg, or 30 kg of fat in 100 kg of liver is excessive fat. For some people, it can be as much as 50 grams, and if there is too much fat, it can affect the normal functioning of the liver. So gradually, they start getting diseases.
