I remember as a child I was fascinated by a small part of the great story in Jack and the Beanstalk. I think I have never been attracted to victory and I really thought Jack was a thief, but I loved the hen that laid golden eggs. The real source was Aesop, who told a moral story to Goose that set a golden egg. Husband and wife were fortunate to have a goose that produced a golden egg every day. For a while they were happy and healthy, but they became impatient with the way they quickly accumulated wealth. So they reasoned that if a goose could lay a beautiful golden egg, it would have to be encrusted with precious metals. If they opened the goose, they would find all the gold at once. Yes we all know what happened, the goose was a goose and there was no gold inside. For Aesop, the character of the story demanded a lot and lost everything. I think there is also a hidden message, real gold comes from the creative process. You, my dear Diva, are the Gold Goose. Each day you lay lots of golden eggs for the rest of your life. They are often hidden as food for loved ones, a short stay at work to help your boss or coworkers, a volunteer at a church or PTA, working with your cross-stitch or scrapbooking or with the enthusiasm of your heart. Everything you do, day by day, that brings blessing to another is a golden egg. Like the goose in the story, you can lay eggs. How well do you take care of the goose? If you are like me at all, and I think you are, we are very hard on the goose. Instead of recognizing all the golden eggs she has laid, and thankfully, we, as the greedy man and woman in the story, expect more, more, more. It's time to dump her and move on. If the goose is well cared for, the eggs will come, no! Here are 7 lucky tips for caring for and feeding a golden goose: 1. Take one day off a week from work. The Sabbath exists for a reason, though God rested. “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; rested… ”Genesis 2: 3 2. Guard your nest. I have very nice bed linen, I feel like a princess every night when I go to bed. I have 2 feather mattresses and silk, for comfort on the floor. I bought them at a discount store we called, Tuesday Morning. Explore the city to find your own. You will immerse yourself in luxury and know that you are special, every night. 3. Raise another gold goose. Identify a friend or loved one who is running out of smoke. Pick up her children after school, bring her a scout meeting, bring her home-cooked dinner (just twice your pile) and leave it on the stairs. Why do we have to wait until we are plagued by a disease or a catastrophe to reach each other? Let’s start the prevention program with our women’s cycle before the goose is cooked. 4. Nourish your spirit daily. Get a quick, easy message that encourages you every day. Another way for us to sign up for Daily Diva Word, is a free, quick download that comes to your email. 5. Turn off the sound. Have a quiet time every day to change gears. If you work outside the home, set aside just 15 minutes of time alone in your car before you pick up the kids, or rush to the store. Get a good CD or tape and play it, alone in your car as you change states from employee to healthy mother, wife or wife. 6. Be a Teacher. The only way we can learn anything new is from someone else. As you begin to present yourself as the Golden Goose you really are, you will begin to recognize other women who are struggling to do it all. Share with them what you learned and what helps you to feel happy about yourself. 7. Never Mistake an Egg as a Gift. We have become a society that values things more than people. It is often joked, written in language that you are as good as your last achievement. That is a lie. We are not a collection of things we do, sell what we do, or a defeated goal. He is a gift. You are the Golden Goose. The egg is the last thing you create. Wherever you are right now in your life, please stop for a moment and hear this truth. Real gold has no effect or success, it is in the process of creation. If you give yourself a little space and take care of the gold goose inside you, you will also lay a golden egg. Don't worry, you have nowhere to go, you have everything you need for the happy life you wish for. You have just forgotten where the true gold resides — within you.
