Why Qatar fifa world cup is seeming different?

Hosting world-famous sports events is always a pleasure for any state globally. But why did Qatar, one of the tiny states has shown interest in hosting the FIFA World Cup, in fact of being lacked resources at that time? How do they manage things in just a short period?  Instead of appreciation, why are they facing immense criticism? These are some of the most key queries to be asked.

But don't worry, I will help you out in finding the answer to the above queries.

QATAR;

Before starting to talk about its history. First, we should well know about this country. Qatar got independence in 1971, they were very poor at that time they were not even able to take meals at least two times a day. Eventually, oil came to their rescue and their leaders avail this opportunity and devoted their life to avail  this blessing at all costs as they did.

Now, their population is 2.91Million,  approximately. They are considered the world's richest country in the entire World.

BIDING OF FIFA WORLD CUP 2022;

Bidding was held in 2011, they compete with big names like Russia, America, and others, and they had amazed all over the World by winning the bidding. Because no one was expecting that. At that time, Qatar has only one stadium available. It was a gigantic task for the government to build infrastructure in a very short span of 12 years.

This bidding was also controversial because most people say that voter had compromised their votes. And Qatar had given a bribe to all the voters. 40 voters from the selected region came and suggested the host of the FIFA World Cup by their voting. 22 out of 40 voters gave their votes, only the remaining voters were pulled out because of being caught taking bribes.

WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES THEY FACED AFTER BIDING;

Qatar had to face so many consequences for winning the bidding, which are mentioned below:

• Usually, FIFA World Cup held in the month of June and July, but in these month the average of temperature of Qatar is 41.5°C, which is never ideal for the atheletes.

•It was a huge task for the government to construct infrastructure which includes roads, hotels, and stadiums.

•They had to make strong policies to conduct this global event in a civilized way. It seemed impossible to manage spectators, players, and the other staff in a very tiny country.

•They had a short period, and they had to do all things on time, for this they had to bring laborers from other countries.

And many other problems which we cannot count on our fingers tips.

WHAT POLICIES THEY MADE;

The policies they had made to counter all the above consequences are mentioned below;

• In order to counter this terror, they decided to put air condition system in all stadium, which will maintain the temperature to average of 27°C. However, FIFA decided to delay the World Cup till winter. So, it will much easier for the players.

• They were successful in constructing 100+ hotels, 8 wonderful stadiums, and huge roads as well. Apart from this, they also constructed the fast transition train system. So, it may help the spectators to attend all the matches of the ongoing day.

• As you know that they constructed 100+ hotels in Qatar, but this was not enough for the spectators for which, they launched the Hayyah card whose validity is available till 23 December. The Hayyah cardholders can travel to Saudi Arabia, and Dubai without a visa, which enables the spectators to live in harmony.

• They had to finish all their preparation before 2022, and they brought laborers from abroad countries which include India, Pakistan, Nepal, Srilanka, And Bangladesh. 6,500 laborers died of being overworked. In short, they didn't behave politely with the laborers they violated all human rights laws whose outcome was in the face of heavy  critics and protest for bad governance.

ABNORMALITY OF QATAR WORLD CUP WITH OTHERS;

The most important factor to be considered is that they devoted their whole life for these twelve years period to make this successful. For this, they spent $229 billion till yet. The previous most expensive world cup held was by Brazil, whose cost was $15 billion. It is estimated that by the end of this World Cup, they would spend $300 billion.

If you combine all the expenses of previous other world cups and distinguish, then we will find the Qatar World cup is four times more expensive than the other all world cups.

WHAT CRITICS THEY ARE FACING;

Qatar is the first Muslim country to host the FIFA World Cup. And it is also the top priority for any country to spread its culture, and Qatar also intends to promote its culture and wants people to follow their culture if they want to be among them.

They also tried to promote their culture in the opening ceremony. Which came out in heavy criticism. However, Qatar has warned them that, they will make people follow their culture.

Beer is banned for the spectators in the stadium during matches. But they will be served in their hotel room. But still, management is facing immense criticism.

WHAT AFTER THE WORLD CUP;

Qatar's government had made a very strong policy, which may survive everlasting. They prepared all things with keeping in mind the afterward situation of the world cup.

They constructed the stadium in a way that they can easily turn a football stadium into an Olympic stadium whenever they want. As they also intended to host other events too.

BENEFITS FOR QATAR BY FIFA WORLD CUP;

The major merit of hosting the FIFA World Cup for Qatar is that they make their identity and got succeeded in including their name among the countries having the most famous architectural creatures. They gain supremacy over others and it gave them an international identity all over the globe.

However, they are generating massive revenue from it. If they end up well. They might also get the right of hosting other global events too in near future.

SUGGESTION;

Qatar has passed through so many dark pages, they were considered to be the cruelest destination for hosting the FIFA World Cup. But they shut down all their critics and proved to them that they are capable of organizing international events.
