The general secretary of India's main opposition party Congress, Priyanka Gandhi, criticized the leaders of the Western world for supporting and providing financial support to Israel's indiscriminate bombing and killings in the Palestinian Gaza Strip. Calling Israel's ongoing atrocities in Palestine as genocide, he called for an immediate end to the attacks.
In a post on social media X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday (November 5), Priyanka Gandhi highlighted the terrible situation in Gaza and said, 'It is horrible and shameful that nearly 10,000 civilians have been massacred. Of which about 5 thousand are children.
He said, 'Gaza's family system has been abolished. Hospitals and ambulances were bombed. Refugee camps are being targeted and leaders of the so-called 'free' world are funding and supporting this ongoing genocide in Palestine.
Calling for immediate ceasefire, he further said that ceasefire is the minimum step which should be implemented immediately by the international community. Otherwise they would have no moral authority left.
Earlier, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi reacted strongly to India not voting on the UN resolution calling for a cease-fire in Gaza last week.
Criticizing the Narendra Modi government, he said he was 'shocked' by the Indian government's stance. The Congress leader said, 'Thousands of men, women and children of Palestine are being killed. This position of India is practically against world peace.' NDTV.
Israel has been carrying out brutal attacks and killings in the Gaza Strip for more than a month. Their attacks have killed 9,770 Palestinians so far. More than half of them are women and children.
