Prashant #Kishor roadmap report in hand, Sonia sets up action group for Congress revival: Sonia Gandhi set up another internal committee on Monday, just days after a panel set up by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi submitted its report to examine the explanation given by election strategist Prashant #Kishor to the Congress. This empowered Working Group 2024 will work to address the political challenges facing the party. However, the composition of the panel has not yet been announced.

Meanwhile, the Congress party has officially announced that it will hold a political training workshop called Nav #Sankalp #Sindhan #Shivir in Udaipur, Rajasthan from May 13 to May 15. About 400 Congress leaders from across the country are attending the three-day session.

Sonia Gandhi met members of the eight-member panel that examined Prashant #Kishor's presentation. A team comprising P. Chidambaram, Ambika #Soni, Priyanka Gandhi, Digvijaya Singh, Jairam Ramesh, #Mukul #Wasnik, KC Venugopal and Randeep Surjewala met several times last week to examine Prashant #Kishor's explanation and prepare a report. In principle, the panel accepted most of the recommendations made by Prashant #Kishore, sources said.

The meeting came a day after I-PAC signed an agreement with the Telangana Political Action Committee or the Telangana #Rashtra #Samithi (TRS) for the 2023 assembly elections. Sources said that while Prashant Kishore was in talks with the Congress upper house, many senior leaders were upset that the I-PAC had struck a deal with its rival TRS.

Today, Sonia Gandhi discussed the report with the committee. Based on the discussions, Sonia Gandhi has decided to set up an Empowered Working Group 2024 to face the coming political challenges, said Randeep Surjewala, Head of Communications, Congress.

Surjewala said the discussions at the Congress' political training workshop would focus on the current political and economic situation and the challenges they pose to society.

He added, #Issues related to social justice and empowerment for farmers and #farm #workers, Scheduled Castes, Tribes, #OBCs, religious and linguistic minorities and women and the welfare and welfare of youth will be discussed in detail. In addition, issues related to party restructuring and strengthening will be explored. The broad strategy of the Congress for the 2024 #Lok #Sabha elections will also be discussed in Sindh #Shivir, #Surjewala said.

The party has already set up 6 committees to draw up resolutions to be passed at this meeting. The Political Resolution Committee is chaired by #Rajya #Sabha Opposition Leader Mallikarjun #Karge, while the Economic Level #Decision #Making Committee is headed by former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh #Hooda, a member of the G23 dissident group, will chair another committee to prepare reports and chair discussions on issues related to farmers and agriculture. The committee comprises Chhattisgarh Minister DS Singh Theo, #Sakthi Singh #Kohli, Nana Patel, Bardab Singh #Bajwa, Arun #Yadav, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, #Geeta #Kora and Ajay Kumar Lallu.
