On January 3 (Wednesday), Prime Minister Narendra Modi's roadshow turned the city of Thrissur in Kerala saffron. The city was covered in a sea of saffron thanks to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) banners, festoons, balloons, ribbons, and flags. During his roadshow, the prime minister was showered with vivid saffron and yellow marigold petals.
After spending two days in the Union Territory, the Prime Minister traveled to the city to speak at a women's conference called "Women's Power with Modi," which was organized by the Kerala branch of the BJP. The purpose of the Prime Minister's visit was to thank the Kerala unit for enacting the Women's Reservation Bill.

When word leaked out that the prime minister had finally arrived at Kuttanellur in Thrissur at 3.10 p.m., the atmosphere was positive. At 3:30 p.m., the crowd's excitement reached a peak when the cavalcade came into sight. From General Hospital Junction to Naikanal, the location of the women's conference, Mr. Modi traveled in an open car. He strolled towards the location. As Mr. Modi waved at them, people shouted and held up placards.

Despite being a women's convention, many see it as the unofficial start of the BJP's campaign for the next Lok Sabha elections. The party's candidate from Thrissur for the elections is expected to be Mr. Gopi. The BJP is placing a lot of emphasis on the Keralan constituency of Thrissur.
A heavy security cord has been drawn around Thrissur for the past three days in anticipation of the arrival. Approximately 3,000 law enforcement officers have been stationed throughout the city to oversee traffic and provide security. Approximately one thousand female law enforcement officers were stationed at the conference site.
Every store at the Swaraj Round and the surrounding roads was still closed. Every lane and alley connecting to the Swaraj Round was blocked.
