Why People Lie

Why do people lie, especially to those they love? Lying is a method used to influence, control and control the thoughts, feelings, and behavior of others. Lying is spontaneous, and in many cases, it happens with little awareness, effort, or thought. In fact, children begin to lie, effectively, at an early age. And as adults, people continue to lie. Not only is lying common but it can take several forms. At some point, people will tell bold lies. That is, say something that is clearly not true. In most cases, however, lying is best accomplished by what is left unspoken - by lying. In this case, the speakers leave out sensitive details (usually who, what, where, when, or why) while leading the audience to believe that the whole story is being told. As Benjamin Franklin points out, “part of the truth is often lies.” So why do people lie, especially to those they love? Lying is often motivated by one or more of the following factors: Avoid Punishment Lying is often used to avoid punishment or possible rejection. When a marriage mate or a partner in a relationship responds negatively to the truth, often people try to hide it from others. By nature, humans are designed to avoid injury and punishment, even though they may have to lie to do so. Also, children learn this skill at an early age and people continue to lie as adults do. Seek Approval Not only are people designed to avoid punishment, but people around the world need to be allowed to do so. Lying and deception are often used to create a beautiful image or image. People will go a long way, even using deception, if necessary, to create a good image. This often involves some form of self-deception - people begin to believe that their false picture is real. Keep Privacy Everyone needs some privacy - a sense of independence, independence, and freedom. People like to feel in control, especially when it comes to providing personal information. Being in a close relationship does not mean that you have completely abandoned your right to, or need to, privacy. Therefore, lying and deception are very helpful when you are trying to maintain a private, independent, and confidential feeling. Avoid Conflict Couples rarely see eye to eye on the whole matter. And if couples were willing (and some did), they would not be able to get involved in endless arguments over many issues. However, getting involved in conflicts can damage any relationship. Therefore, instead of arguing about all the issues that may arise, it is sometimes easier to avoid disagreements by pretending to understand each other. Whether people like to admit it or not, power differences exist in all relationships. Power involves control when it comes to decision-making. And power often shifts back and forth between partners depending on the issue at hand. For example, one partner may have financial power, and another partner may have social power (control over social situations). As a general rule, a person who is powerless in any situation is more likely to lie in order to influence the outcome. For example, children often lie to their parents, employees often lie to employers, and so do close relationships. A person, weak, often lies in order to get what he wants. Lying helps people to dispel potential conflicts of interest.
