Police say he was convicted under the Necessity for Permits, so he had to go to court and pay a fine and get his license revoked.
He immediately consulted with lawyers he knew. Only then did it become clear to anyone who really had the law that it was wrong to give a lift to unknown persons in a private vehicle.
Nitin Nayan, who went to court with no other option, pleaded guilty before the judge to the ‘crime’ of converting his personal car into a passenger car by giving ‘lifts’ to unknown persons with the intention of helping.
He was fined Rs 2,000.
After completing the court proceedings, Nitin Nair went back to the police station and was warned, "If you give anyone a lift, your license will be confiscated."

It is true that there are provisions in the Indian Motor Vehicle Act that no person shall use his private vehicle as a passenger vehicle or freight vehicle. There are 2 reasons for this law.
The first reason is that some people use their own non-T-permit vehicles, such as taxis, to avoid paying taxes. In this way they are making money illegally.
