Brazilian star Neymar Jr. is facing surgery again less than seven months after surgery on his right ankle. He suffered a major injury in a World Cup qualifier against Uruguay last month. He has torn ligaments in his left knee.

The Brazil Football Confederation (CBF) announced that Neymar will undergo surgery on a new injury on Thursday (November 2). This surgery will be done under the Brazilian national team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar.

Neymar was injured in the 44th minute of the World Cup qualifying match against Uruguay on October 17. At one stage of the battle for possession of the ball with the Uruguayan midfielder Nicolas de la Cruz, Neymar fell. He kept moaning while lying on the field in pain. Although first aid was given in the field, it did not help.

In the end, Neymar left the field crying on a stretcher. After the Brazilian medical team's observation, it was reported the next day that Neymar would have to undergo surgery.

Time is not going well for Brazil. After a draw against Venezuela in the World Cup qualifiers, they lost 2-0 against Uruguay. On top of that, they have to play against Colombia and arch-rival Argentina this month. It is certain that Neymar will not be available in these matches after undergoing surgery. Earlier, Neymar was sidelined for five months after suffering an ankle injury in a French league match last February.

Rodrigo has a contract with Real Madrid until 2028

After Vinicius Junior, Real Madrid has extended the contract with another Brazilian star Rodrigo. He will play in the Spanish club until 2028 in the new term.

Real announced the new contract with Rodrigo on Thursday (November 2).

Rodrigo joined Real Madrid in 2019 from the Brazilian club Santos when he was only 18 years old. Since then, this star has been proving himself for Los Blancos.

Rodrigo scored 39 goals in 179 matches in all competitions in five seasons in the jersey of the Spanish club. He assisted 33 goals with him. Real has already won all possible titles. His previous contract was till 2025. It has been extended by three years till 2028.

Meanwhile, Rodrigo's compatriot teammate Vinicius Junior has extended his contract with Real until 2027 in a new term on Tuesday.

Chelsea-Liverpool in the quarter of the League Cup, farewell to Man U-Arsenal

Manchester City, who won the treble last time, could not reach the round of sixteen of the League Cup. Two more giant teams Arsenal and Manchester United had to leave the 16-team stage. However, Chelsea and Liverpool kept their hopes of winning the title alive by reaching the quarter-finals.

All the League Cup round of sixteen matches took place on Wednesday (October 2). Newcastle and Everton are in the quarter with Chelsea, Liverpool. The remaining four teams in the quarter-finals are West Ham, Fulham, Middlesbrough and Port Vale.

Arsenal did not care about playing in the opponent's field. After conceding a self-inflicted goal in the first half, the current runners-up of the Premier League scored two more goals in the second half. Martin Odegaard's goal in extra time only narrowed the gap. Mikel Arteta's disciples left the field with a 3-1 defeat.

Although Arsenal lost in the opponent's field, Manchester United was caught in their own field. The Red Devils lost 3-0 against Newcastle, who beat City in the round of sixteen. Eric Ten Haag's team was knocked out of the match after conceding two goals in the first half. In the second half, English midfielder Joe Willock increased the gap a little more.

Liverpool took the early lead at Bournemouth but struggled in the second half. In the 64th minute, Justin Kluivert's goal equalized the hosts. However, Liverpool took the lead again in the 70th minute with Darwin Nunez's goal. In the end, Jurgen Klopp's team entered the quarter with a 2-1 victory.
